TL, The Q45 is UGLY IMO

and the Q45 will never handle as sporty and take twistie turns like a TL

Q45 is more of a luxury family sedan while TL is Sporty Sedan with a hint of Luxury..

How old are you?

I am 31, going to be 32 in a month (Oct 3rd). I just don't know what car to buy. I know they are total different cars but I really like them both. I have test driven the Q45 like three times and I am very close to buying it. Then I see the article on the 04 TL and it gets me thinking. I am still leaning toward the Q45 because it has so many features but the 04 TL is starting to grow on me. I am not too worried about how it turns because I don’t go out and push the limits of the car. I am more interested in luxury and how smooth the ride is. I love my 99 TL and think it is really nice inside and rides nice. One of the reason I bought it. I guess I will have to wait and test-drive the 04 TL. What would you buy between the two?

I would wait and test drive them both, I think the TL will be your best choice though for the money. The Q is a great car, but its misunderstood and hardly ever gets any press on it. The Q will ride a bit smoother and have more features but it'll cost more too.

If you can afford the Q45, and you don't care about the TL's superior navigation system, then you should get the Q45. I test drove one recently and loved it. If it had the Nav system from the new Accord I'd buy one in a second!

Well you nailed that one. That thing was very hard to work with. But every thing else on the car was tits. The navi was the only thing that I didn't like.

The Q's headlights are awesome! The engine is sweet, too. Nice backup camera as well.

All in all, great car, but I'd get the M45 first. Sleeper, IMO.

A Q45 loaded is almost twice as much as a TL. I personally would go for the Q45. Way more luxurious than the TL. Anyways...this isnt a fair comparison. the Q45 falls with the LS430, BMW 745, S430.

The Q has poor resale value. The M is a better value than the Q and has just about all the toys of the Q.

If I wanted a Q I would go certified pre-owned and save a bundle of cash.

Since you are considering the Q, you should go plop yourself in the LS430 and see what you think of that.

The LS will have a much better ride. The Q has been compared to Buicks.

The Q's Resale is So horrible, that even brand new you can get upto 5-10k discounts..

Second of all its ugly..

People say get M45, but M45 is even more ugly, not to mention its a Taxi back in Japan..

Your Choice, but if you want a sporty car get 2004 TL, if you want a car thats luxurious, than get LS430 or mercedes or so..

For that price why would u get a Q45, but than again they have heavy discounts..

Don't like the new TL or Q45. Test drive a low-mileage pre-owned
LS430 and GS430.

I've got my choices narrowed down to the new TL or the Audi A4. Similar interior dimensions, Acura wins in pure power, but I think Audi wins in aesthetics, Acura wins in technology, Audi wins in Quattro. I'm split 50/50 - can't decide - maybe the test drive will do it...

I have considered the S4, but that puts it out of my price range <$40K, as well as not being price competitive with the new TL.

Have you considered the Volvo S60-R. AWD and 300hp for under $38K.

Another good suggestion, but our other car is a Volvo XC-70, which is the wagon version of the S60. Gotta have a little variety!
