Only 6 people in all of Germany? How did you find that out?

It's a honda product so yes, the car is a "long life car" if you take care of it. The auto trans is probably the weakest point on the car but even then, there's a few high 200K's and low 300K's that have made it on their original transmission.

You can pretty much be assured that 95% of scrapped 3G TL's were in an accident yet have perfectly functioning engines, electronics and probably even transmissions.

Honda/Acuras go forever if you maintain them well.

The TL needs transmission care. Here's some information:

There are a few different highest mileage type topics on here that could give you an idea of what the car is capable of. Aside from the '04-'06 transmission, which seems to be hit or miss, it seems like it is a pretty good car for the long run if maintained.

Maybe by the time it finally does die Acura will figure their stuff out.

Just curious, but how is this one of the best cars you've owned if the transmission died before 70,000 miles? My previous car was a Cavalier and it was going strong at 130,000 before I totalled it. Most expensive thing I ever replaced on it in 8 years were the struts for about $300.

This is from a while back but no major issues with the car.

I've done my regular oil changes and drain and fills on the trans. I just started running Amsoil 5w20 with Amsoil EAO filter, up until now I've been running Mobil super 5000, formerly Mobil 5000 with Mobil 110 filter. I ran honda ATF Z1 up until it became unavailable and now running Eneos multi vehicle synthetic ATF.

Works great for me!

If replaced normal wear and tear items, seats, trim, carpet, brakes, rotors, wheel bearings, timing belt 2 times, ac compressor but no failures.

I've only had one really annoying problem, when it rains, it seems my car alarm seems to go off for no reason! I typically reset the alarm via the key in the door lock and it will be fine for months.

I am very happy with this car but I'm thinking of getting a 4th gen!
