Just finished oil change on acura tl type s 2008

Held reset button for oil service to reset it and after 10 sec light came on and said needs service soon and stayed on with the letter A so i did it again for 10 sec and then it asked if I want to reset and it worked and shut off. I have followed this before and service light came on with letter b. I was very confused but looks like I was able to reset this and all lights are off. Any idea if I did this correctly. Thanks. Oil life went back to 100% but at the time i did this i don't recal after the 10 sec hold it saying warning service soon???? Anyone?

I think as long as you are at 100% oil life you should be good. The prompt should have asked if you want to reset the service light. After you select yes, I think it should just display oil life and get rid of the service warning.

If you change your oil before the MID advises you that it is time, part of the MID reset process is that it will show you the next service due and you are verifying that is the one that you want to note as completed.

If you waited till the MID advised you that you needed to change your oil it would not provide the extra prompt regarding the service type code.

For example, if you were coming up on another service that the MID saw as due before your oil change, that is the code that would have come up and you would have been clearing.

Thanks all

I did this twice because I thought that was weird. I just hope I did not clear more then just the oil life. It's back to 100% which is good but is tere anything else the car tells you that I could have cleared? Air filter life or something stupid I could have ruined lol. Thoughts?
