I remember I while back some complaints about going through oil real fast and being down to 30%. Was this just a few or a TL problem in general? Was it evert resolved in later vins?

I don't think this is the problems. 04TL will calculate your engine oil and other maintenance schedule by your environmental and mechanical factors.

I got 30% reading in about 4500 miles driving, but some ppl living in countryside might get 50%. It's normal.

Since this engine oil reminder is resetable by any drivers. You can even keep your habit of changing oil as early as possible. (Not the first engine oil, you should follow what the service manual says...)
