Yup! Diff of 17 lbs. And increase of .2 cu/ft volume in the trunk. I dunno how they got rid of 17 lbs. Compared 6MT with and w/o nav. Both have 17 lbs. diff.

Does the Navi weigh 17 lbs? Maybe they got the non-navi data for trunk space and weight.

Glad to see only two changes. Here is my question though, if the '05 has the seatbelt latch bolted to the seat frame....how is it connected in the '04?

One is the sensor for the passenger seat (which I thought the '04 already had), and a sensor for the driver seat position to calculate the best angle for airbag deployment (don't know if '04 has this too). Any thoughts on this?

I have my '04 guide and '05 guide next to each other. So far all I can find different is the following:

1) Slight change in the color of the red as we expected.
2) A minor change in the MPG to 20/29 for automatic and manual trans.
3) The weight of the car has changed:

04 AT NAV 3564 Lbs.
04 AT 3557lbs.
04 MT NAV 3472Lbs
04 MT 3465Lbs
05 AT NAV 3578lbs.
05 AT 3570lbs.
05 MT NAV 3486lbs.
05 MT 3472lbs.

4) No mention in the new guide of what type of tires are being used that I am able to find. Simply says P235/45 R17 93W All Season.

Other than that, I don't see any other major changes, but am still reading through.

Colors:

White Diamond Pearl - Quartz or Parchment

Satin Silver Metallic - Quartz or Ebony

Anthracite - Camel, Quartz or Ebony

Nighthawk Black - Parchment, Camel, Quartz, or Ebony

Abyss Blue Pearl - Camel or Quartz

Deep Green Pearl - Parchment or Camel

Desert Mist Metallic - Parchment or Ebony

Redondo Red Pearl - Parchment, Camel or Ebony ( Note the slight change in this color was confirmed by the dealer)

Well, I search it again, you could be right about acuranews, I see nothing over there about seat frame mount stuff... so please read here. http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=265399

About the sensors, IMHO, I think 05TL just add the weight sensor into the buttom of the passenger seat. Plus, a driver seat position sensor.

Hmm, I did not expect world beating changes, but I am disappointed with the changes.

I still cannot believe there is no tire pressure monitor! Long overdue, IMHO.

Guess we will have to hope for next year on the ventilated seats, power tilt/telescoping wheel and power folding side view mirrors.

Thanks everyone for the updates.

05 TL weight

These numbers show that the 05 TL is actually 17 lb. heavier than the 04 model

That comparison on the Acura page also says that the 05 has fog lights, and the 04 doesn't.

What's up with that?

Yeah, my first post. I think I'll be picking up my TL tomorrow . . . let me see if I get the lingo right . . . an 05 6MT/NAVI SSM/EN?

I am sure it is something minor that we just didn't notice, so would appreciate the information.

Pictures would help to make a side by side comparison.

You sure he did not opt for the sport steering option?

The ASpec steering wheel uses the original air bag cover, the one with the Acura emblem on it, so that wouldn't explain it. See this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=A-Spec

Need some pics of each one so we can see the difference.

That pic highlights the difference. Do you see how the background of the Acura calipers is shiny gloss black, but that the airbag-cover-portion of the steering wheel is like a matte-finished, pebbled black?

The shiny black part behind the Acura caliper emblem is matte-pebbled-black on 05 steering wheels. So, the emblem, instead of being a "badge" like that, is more of a metal insert into that divet in the middle.

When I find my digital camera, I'll take a quick pic for you.

OK, here's the emblem:

I don't have Adobe on this computer or I could have put the whole wheel in . . . every time I try to shrink the photo I lose detail.

But you get the idea.

Those sensors in the front passenger's seat are in the 2004 already. That's not a change. You can try this, when someone is sitting in the passenger's seat, tell them to take off their seat belt and turn sideways, like with their feet in the seat, You'll notice that the "side airbag off" light will illuminate in your instrument panel. You'll even notice that that same light stays illuminated a little longer than the rest when you first turn the car on. It has to run through a check. I cant believe that they noted that as a change.

Soooo..... That's what the imprint on my forehead will look like if the airbag goes off?

At least it will be the same backwards. Talk about the Scarlet Letter!
