OEM parts question from a noob.

Is Acura still selling ALL of the OEM parts for the 3G TL? Will they ever discontinue selling OEM parts for this or earlier generations of the TL? It seems like in a couple of years, it would be sound from a business standpoint to ease off focus on making 3G, 2G, or 1G OEM parts...

I actually don't know what car companies do about older generation cars' parts, do we all have to go aftermarket or start hording up on tail lights, bumpers, etc?

yes as of now the 3G TL parts are still produced. 3-4 more years down the road, maybe not. for example, honda has stopped producing hfp lips for 2003-2005 accords, and since TL's are based on accords, they may stop producing aspec lips soon too.

Several colors of the Aspec kit for the 3G have already been discontinued. I had one heck of a time find the front lip for my '07 TL-S.

Most of the parts for 2G TL and 3G are still being produced and stocked. Accessories are secondary; those phase out a lot quicker than Replacement parts. My dealership still stocks hundreds of parts for the DC/DB integras including bumpers although some parts are still harder to get since the car is manufactured in Japan.
MN07TLS^ Alabaster Silver Type S' are rare; they probably rarely sold the kit for that color vehicle therefore your A-Spec Kit would phase out sooner than say a Black Type S kit or a White. High Demand= High production.

They are? Seems like I've seen more ASM Type-S's than any other color. Good to know I have a rare color, if that's the case.

I've seen one. Around my way at least. The point I was trying to get across;is that Certain colors are sold more. The way it works with American Honda;and any other business, is if you aren't selling something as much;slow production.

I wouldn't worry too much about replacement parts going non existent. My last car, a 98 Volvo S70, the dealer could still get any part you can imagine right down to interior trim clips.

For example, I swapped in a power passenger seat. I had to add a circuit breaker in the fuse box which was already awaiting it. Following that the mounting bolt covers were different from manual > power. They ordered in the cover I needed and that was that.
