oem oil for first two oil changes?

Well after searchin and reading for almost three hours I am more confused than ever. This is my 34,000 car and I am confused about the oil I should use for my first oil change. I did find a response by MICHAEL were he said to change with non synthetic oil for the first 10,000 miles to flush out any particles than after 10,000 miles use synthetic. I hope I got this right MICHAEL, hope I am not stepping on your toes. Can anyone let me know a.s.a.p I have to change within the next two days .I am at 15%.Thanks in advance guys.

you can keep on with dino oil or switch to full syn, no differences or reasoning to keep dino oil if you want to go full syn and stretch out the change intervals.

Yeah, if you're picky like some people I know, that I suggest doing a few short drains with conventional oil during the first 10k miles...but it really isn't needed.

i'm thinking about having the dealer do my first oil change with conventional oil. i don't know much about oils but i figured i'd let them do the first couple. i've always taken my other cars to places like goodyear or econo lube n tube since it's much cheaper than dealer and never had any problems. my 06 TL just hit <15% oil life at 5900 miles. it's been 4 full months. i've browsed a quite a few other posts but was wondering what the more recent concensus is on whether one should follow the MID's recommendation on oil life or to change the oil every 3-5000 miles using conventional oil? thanks.

I used Havoline 5-20 each 3,000 miles till 10,000 and then went to M1 5-20.

If you are under 5,000 miles and want to use the same or similar break-in oil the factory uses, with high Molybdenum content, Havoline 5W-20 is the one to use. Acura says not to change the break-in oil too early. By using the Havoline, you are keeping with a similar formula (if not identical).

After 5,000 miles, the Acura is pretty much broken in so, as others have said, it's dealer's choice.

I chose to go with Mobil 1 at 5,000 miles for my second oil change. I will stick with that from now on. I send my used oil to a lab for analysis and it is doing well.

With modern oils with "L" and "J" designations, there is little difference in performance with synthetics if you change by the MID. For me, the synthetic gives a little more peace of mind for a few bucks extra. In the real world, that's probably overkill.
