Not happy with my body kit
Last week I traded in my beloved 02 TLS, it was a hard choice to make, but I wanted the new body style on the 04/05, and I got a 05. When I purchsed the car I went witht he body kit, and the anthracite, and I must say it looks amaging. Now for the bad part, when I purchased the car I had them put the complete protection kit on, carpet, leather and roch chip protectant, which I think is always a good deal. 2 days ago i went to the dealer to have my car washed (free for life with purchase) and the car wash ripped off my licience plate cover, never thought that would happen there, being the dealership and all. Well I noticed the seal on the front end of the body kit was damaged and now has to be replaced, also on both sides there is a pocket, because all they use to hold it on is some sticky tape, and I think that is complete Bullsh*t ! Not only do I have to wait to have the piece replaced, because it has to be treated with the roch chip stuff, but now I see a flaw in the bodykit. I told the tech there, and he said they are aware of this problem, but Honda said there is nothing they can do to fix it. I love Acura, but man this is just wrong.

Cant say that I have seen the ronjon kit up close, but if it looks anything like these fast and the furious kits then......no thanks. I really like the dealers body kit, just need to get this problem fixed, and they said it will be done friday. I hope for their sake it is, because I dont do well with this kinda stuff, i mean why should I, its a fricken brand new car.

Must have been tough letting go of the TL-S. Despite having an 04, I still love my TL-S. I can't let it go.
Good choice getting the A-spec body kit, it really makes the TL stand out from the crowd. I love mine. You just have a little minor set back.....good luck getting things resolved.

Why'd he let it get washed there? Cuz if they F-Up, like they obviously did, free stuff time!
I would be suuuuuper pissed however, don't settle with the "There's nothing we can do about it BS." I bet their regional managers would say something different. Threaten them with that. Call the higher powers that be if they don't play ball with ya and fix all ur sheit!!!!!

Not really, If I was in NH I would be driving. BTW, I was just pointing out that he kinda acts like its his own car, which it may be. Notice I always refer to it as being(or going to be) my fathers. Your 18, so I wouldnt be talking, Im under 3 years younger then you. And to clarify. IT IS NOT MY CAR, AND IT WILL NOT BE MY CAR, IT WILL BELONG TO MY FATHER.

I have to admit that I saw a lot of body kits, but Ron Jon design is truly very elegant yet extremely creative. Wish there was a lot more companies that put so much heart into their work.

1) ok ok, i 'instuct' my dad not to go to car washes
2) i hav the Mr. clean autodry and its...... decent though some water spots still persist and its rather expensive to continue to buy filters, soap and that crap
3) i handwash each of our cars, including my dad's employee's automobiles
4) once i turn 16, that tl is mine (my dad only drives it 3 miles each day)

Hey there - I too was not happy with the A-SPEC body kit so I went back to my dealer up here in Canada and complained - a complete new body kit was ordered and installed. The second kit was in fact a better fit, but the two-way tape kills me...you'd think that there would be a better system.
Just my $0.02 CDN pennies though!!

I went back to Acura of Seattle today, told them what my problem was, and that I was otherwise very satisfied with their services. They gave me a loaner and when I came back this afternoon everything was done, it looks good once again. I told them I would watch to see if there was anymore seperation, and they said they knew I would. Pretty funny, but this is my money we are talking about, and I want it done right, but as of right now I am happy!

That RonJon bodykit doesn't really scream luxury .. it screams F&F, etc. I think it's hideous, and though there is obviously a lot of creativity and hard work put into producing that thing ... yuck!

I do have to agree, the RJ kit looks like its for the younger kids whos daddy's bought them a TL, for about 16- 25 year olds. I like my ASPEC body kit, just wasnt happy with the way it was sitting, but they fixed that.

I think nothing could be farther from the truth in my opinion. I think that Ronjon kit is very clean, and looks damn near stock. If you want F&F, look at about every other car on the road with a primered body kit. The Ronjon kit looks to be worth every penny and the fact that it is polyurathane versus 7 million layers of crappy fiber glass shows that they are trying to produce a quality product IMO.

I love the service at Acura of Seattle. I think they have very good service, but not that I moved far away from that dealer I have to take the TSX to Acura of Bellevue and I dont like that dealer one bit. Glad you got you TL fix.

i think the ronjon looks pretty fast and furious. its really doesn't look like it belongs on the TL, plus aftermarket kits never fit properly. some people might have gaps with the a-spec kit but when installed properly it looks great.
