Non-nav display clear plastic cover??

My non-nav display appears to have this clear plastic cover that's starting to peel from 2 sides. Has anyone noticed this in their non-nav displays? Can this plastic be removed since it's starting to peel off? I'm afraid that if I peel it off that it could damage the display.

I bet it was meant to be removed upon purchase, like some cell phones and PDAs.

Remove it. You'll find the same thing over your clock display too. I have a non-navi and pulled it off on the way home.

It's to protect the screen during shipment and test drives.

But replace with a good Screen Protector.
