No Front License Plate

Hey guys and gals, just got pulled over yesterday for no front plates (live in Ca.), but the officer was cool about it and just gave me a warning. I told him I have no place to put my front plate because I have no license plate holes or holder for it. (cause I got those buttons to cover them up ,ha,ha,ha) He also told me I was lucky and should look into getting it done some how, he said some officers are not as nice about it as he was. After the incident my plans for the RonJon body kit has been changed, I'll have to go with the A-spec kit from the dealership, so I can still put on my front plates if needed. Damm, the only bright spot is this incident occur before I got the RonJon kit.

Same here. Got pulled twice in a month. The first time while going to work. The second one was a big hassle I was going to leave for a business trip and guess what? I missed my flight. After that incident, I have to install my front plates.

Even they write me a ticket in front of my house parked for no front lic plate. $65

No offense, but it really amazes me how much time people here spend trying to get around the front license plate laws. Sure, it looks nice not to have the front tag, but is it really worth all this hassle?

After getting two tickets for no front in Chinatown in downtown LA, I finally gave up and installed my front. These aren't fix-it tickets either. They are $25 violation fine. They can ticket me as many times as they want.

My 98 Prelude still doesn't have one, and I've never gotten ticketed, but I've decided it's not worth the hassle anymore. I'm getting too old for this.

Yeah...... Just like Code Red's are illegal, so they never happen......

You may not have a quota, but try not writing a ticket for a month.......

Don't think for a second we all actually believe that you are not measured on the number of tickets you write.

Nice try though. Next time, you might post this in a pre-kindergarten forum. They MIGHT actually believe you!

Do the plates have to be on the bumper? Some guy in PT Cruiser has his plate attached to the passenger's visor and the visor is always down. I've also seen someone's plate taped up to the windshield. Are any of these legal?

the reason i have my front plate on is because there is a school on my way to and from work, and there is a jackass cop who is basically there everyday pulling ppl over for speeding. the first time i ever saw him, i got a ticket! i dont need to give him another reason to pull me over.

I wonder if that still considered legal.

Supposedly the law from what I've heard, which may be different from state to state, is that you cannot have anything covering either of the plates. So in reality those clear plexiglass or plastic covers over the plates are illegal as well.

Actually I write on average less than 5 moving violation tickets a month...sometimes I write as little as one a month...and no one says a thing. If you start to look at the old timers statistics...some have written less than 5 tickets for the entire year and no one says anything!! So your wrong on being messured on that!!

Nope, I have no front plates either. My last G35 no plate, and my current TL. As long as your not doing anything wrong the cop is not going to waste his time to pull you over for that. I have had no front plates for over 2 years never a problem YET.

Here in NJ, I was pulled over and cited in Old Bridge Twp for the plate cover on my Accord's rear plate. I have one on my Maxima but have not had any altercations with 5-0 yet.

Exactly right....Its one of those stops we usually use to stop people we suspect of doing something wrong...it is a very rarely written ticket were I work.

I will never have a front plate on my car. I don't give a crap if it's illegal. I never have had a front plate here in texas. That's the first thing I do to my car is to take off the front plate holder.

That's I pretty good idea.

I got pulled over in the early 90's when I had my '89 Cavalier. Cop said I was speeding 34 in a 25, ok but he couldn't get over that my front plate was to the side like you have yours, but to the right. He wanted to know if I put it on like that. I told him no, that's how they made the car.

He keep asking, he couldn't get off of the damn subject. Then after I thought he was going to have a fit, another Cavalier drove by. I made sure that I pointed out to him, HE FINALLY SHUT THE HELL UP.

I did the speeding ticket.

what L brackets did you get? and from where? also did you have to take off the front bumper to mount them?

sorry for the rapid questions

i have gotten a $840 ticket for going 128mph in a 55mph.it was on i97 in washington state i think. it was so weird cuz there were no cars on the road and it was like 1pm in the afternoon so i floored it and the on,ly reason i probbly didnt get aby faste was cuz there were 2 cop cars waiting for me with there lights on at the next freeway interence. when i asked the cop told me that they were radiod from the plane. i was like plane and they said that the state patrol hassnall planes which fly over the freeways and measure the cars speed by these things on the side of the road some white markers or something. though i would share.
