Talking No disrespect, but some Civic owners make me laugh!

Sooo I was coming home from my gf's house in Brooklyn going back to Jersey through Staten Island.. with traffic on 278 I decided to take the road that runs parallel to the highway.. pull up to a light, and there's a "bubble" sitting there with the "classic tuning" --> Loud ass exhaust, dropped, with 16 inch yellow rims (I think they were BBS), carbon fiber hood, gray matte paint.. "drag bumper" with the holes in it and some other crap I cant remember..oh and of course the 10000k Dark Blue HID's that paint the street in blue and blind everyone who's driving.. and lets not forget the yellow fogs.. anyways I didn't pay much attention to it, all I noticed is two guys in it, with music blasting..

I pull up.. look at their car and this guy starts revving his engine, probably thinking it sounds cool, so I closed the windows and turned my music up. On green he steps on it, I take off after but without burning any rubber, giving it about half throttle as I go through my gears and just walk by them, until the next light when I was slowing down... he pulls up all psyched up, and looks at me so I lower my window he goes "mann I almost had you" lol.. I broke out in laughter and closed the window.. On green I stepped on it and left his two blue headlight in my mirror like he was standing still...5 minutes later he catches up to me on the freeway, Im doing about 55, he pulls up to me, honks three times, downshifts and I hear his car screaming like crazy.. I step on the gas (without downshifting in 5th) and pretty much stay with him... then traffic, bumper to bumper... he pulls up screaming that's bullshit dude, youre probably modded up the ass with that thing... I couldn't help but laugh my ass off... I mean no disrespect to Civics, and I've seen some "bubbles" that were able to smoke me.. but this guy was just something else.. Big mouth and shitty ass car.. I said I aint got nothing but an intake in here, you're just pissed off that you're getting smoked with ease by a luxury sedan...I can take you without downshifting on cruise control bro... Why dont you put 12000k purple HIDs in it, maybe that will boost your performance some

This generation of Civic "tuning" is everywhere in my town, although there's one that is done right with supposedly 20k in the motor.. Which I believe lol Nice ego bust.

Some idiot with a three level wing on his old Sentra tried racing me in my RL. Similar story, half throttle for me, him at full throttle and unable to pass me. He almost caused an accident trying to pass me in traffic. This was on a two lane road (with double solid lines the entire length of the road too) in suburbia.

Funny story, stuff like that happens here all the time. Here is one ricer attempting to catchup to a caravan with some great results.

Actually, looks like it was TWO Civics chasing each other. The CRX was chasing a white Civic.

Wait... so you beat a 120 horsepower Civic... with a 270 horsepower TL?
Sorry, I just don't really see anything particularly intriguing.

seriously, stop bragging. Take it to the track and take the guy for his money next time!...then let us know what happened.

Some Civics are monsters, and some are just your ordinary Civics. Consider yourself lucky he didn't have a boosted B series, or NA K series for that matter.

I ran one a longg time ago with a bolt on/tuned GSR motor and it was close in 1st gear. After that I walked away. He probably had 60lbs on me though.

The only Civics that I've seen that are impressive (in a straight line) are COMPLETELY gutted, have a motor swap, and a power adder. It not too hard to break in 13's in a quarter mile when your car weighs as much as a motorcycle (I'm exaggerating there, but you get the point).

Not really. That's what people that don't spend their money pimping an economy car tend to think of them.

I think some people misunderstood the point of the thread.. It wasn't to diss civics or any other ride, or to brag that I beat a 120hp civic.. The point was to point out that some people are idiots, people that talk shit and don't show for it.. I know what I drive, and I know what it can do, I'm not going to pull up to an M3, and be like "dude lets go I'll smoke ur ass" because I know I won't.. I hate people who are too conceited.. I have nothing against Civics, It just about basic ethics.. Just a while ago, I had a guy trying to race me from a dig, on a 09 civic SI, without saying a word we both took off on green, he had me up untill about 80 then I pulled out by half a car, it was very close.. Next light we pulled over.. and I wanted to see what he's got under there.. on the outside it was totally stock. But the engine was chipped, had a few other mods and a catback...I like all cars, there's not dissing here.. to each his own that all.. This was just to say that people who drive a 120hp stock civic and talk shit like they drive a rocket need to learn their lesson every now and then...just expressing my opinion that's all.. Oh and just to clarify, I wasn't racing the civic, I was just cruising.. If I did race it he'd never get a chance to say "I almost had you"..
