Newbie saying hi!

Hey All,

I'm a newbie here just wanted to introduce myself. I'm in Colorado and just bought (off ebay in Michigan) an 04 TL 6spd w/ nav, Anthrechite on Black, can't wait to get it! I was visiting Boston a few years ago and a had the pleasure of driving a TL while I was there, I was hooked on that remarkable car after driving it for a few days. I finally got mine, now just waiting to get it to Colorado.

Looking forward to chatting with you guys! Awesome car!

Congrats and welcome to the greatest forum online!

*warning* with every thread you read, your bank account may start to decrease in its holdings, lol...modding is an addictive (and expensive) hobby

HA! Thanks for the response TeknoKing!

I haven't even gotten the car shipped yet and already planning to decrease my account level. Thinking of some type-s wheels & an Injen. Anyone know if the Injen is worth the $300? According to thier website it only adds about 7hp.

prohrman,

ok to tell you honestly, an intake system will give you minimal horse power gain, I would say around 3-5 hp, but it will make your car sound more aggressive, and it does help out on the mpg. And you can get it cheaper than 300, just do a quick search for AEM here.

In regards to type-s wheel, most TLers are not fans of them, so check the Black Market here, they maybe on sale for a good price.

Good Luck, and Happy TLing

I've seen the Injen around $240-260 on ebay and other sites, but only gaining 3-5hp tells me taht the OEM setup is pretty efficient. Any help with mileage is always appreciated and always love the sound of an intake kit. have to think about it, any thoughts anyone?

Thanks for the info on the wheels, I'll check out the link for sure. I like the looks of the type-s whels on Anthrichite. Didn't like them at first but the more I looked at them they started to grow on me.

definatley an ipod interface, (not sure which one) and a nav hack that I read about in one of these threads. Eventually when the brakes need to be replaced I'll probably upgrade the existing Brembo's with some crossdrilled rotors. That's all I can think of for now, the possibilities are endless with this amazing machine.

Oh yeah, and smoked taillights/side marker lights.

So excited, I want it now!!! TL's (as most cars) are expensive in Colorado. The only bad part about buying out of state is waiting for it to arrive! I'll post a pic ASAP

Well let's see... My '04 manual TL is Anthracite/Ebony and it also has NAV. Damn.. that sounds like yours!

In what month was your '04 built? Mine was built in July and I bought it on July 17; just two days after the dealer had received it in inventory. It still had all of the shipping plastic on it. It' been a gem.
