New York must love the Acura TL

Well I just returned about an hour ago from my road trip to Farmingdale, NY on Long Island for my first mod My rear calipers are now painted a nice glossy black and come very very close to matching fronts exactly...Bruce at ReconditionUSA did a great job as always.

But I digress from the title of this thread. While driving in NY and on Long Island I noticed a lot more TL's on the road than I do when I am at home in northern Connecticut. It seems that New Yorkers must have great taste in cars even if they have bad taste in baseball teams....re: The Yankees.....lol. And the TL's I saw on the road all looked nice as well, it seems that New Yorkers are a little more meticulous about keeping their TL's looking good than most people in Connecticut. Maybe we can't afford to wash and detail our cars as much due to our enormous tax burden...lol. However, I am a Connecticut exception....I keep my TL looking good almost all the time.

So here's to New Yorkers and their taste in cars

Two other people where i work just bought TLs - one is identical to mine! (but they didn't put in LED lights, though) That now makes 5 other TLs! Once I lose my Texas plates, it'll look like all of the others!

I swear at least 30,000 of the 77,000 TLs Acura sells a year end up in Atlanta.

Tint your windows or get new rims. You'll stand out a bit.

I went to the US Open (Golf) on Wednesday. Traveled from Ohio and I saw a ton more TL's in the NY area than I do in Ohio.

There are a lot in upstate NY too. It's weird. I live in a small city north of Albany (maybe 10,000 people) and I see 3 NBPs other than mine almost everyday. There's also a couple Anthracites, an ASM, and a RBP I see on a regular basis. It's not an overly affluent area either. Very weird. Before I got mine 2 months ago, I had only seen one of the NBPs and the RBP. I wanted to be unique, but oh well.

what guarvp123 said was not sarcastic at all...

And there are alot of TL's around LI ... especially in Nassau. Mabey its becuase there are 3 (if im not mistaken) dealerships in a 30 mile radius.

The place i have seen the most Tl's is in long beach/oceanside. Oh man if you park on Long beach road for 10 mins, you will see another Tl every 10-15 seconds. Mostly driven by older folks though.

The number of TLs on central NJ roads seems to outnumber the Accord (exc. Edison area).

and most are modded

Pics will be coming as soon as my new rims come in and they are on the car. I am hoping they will be here any day now.

By the way......nice couple of choke jobs by the Yankees against the powerful Washington Nationals.... lol

You all should get a TSX....you don't see those around too much.
Don't all TL owners get bored of seing their cars on the road?

I know I would.

I have no delusion that any car <$50k is particularly exclusive but after thinking more about this topic, the Camry V6 and 3.5L Altimas are rarer than the TL around here.

The irony...

And here I thought that Pennsylvania had at least 50% of the TL sales! LOL.

Seriously though...I thought about this issue during this past weekend, just about PA, instead of NY.

We went to The Home Depot and as usual with anywhere we go...we park at the back of the lot to avoid ignorants who want to bang up your car....anyway... We come out and there is a NBP TL parked right beside us. So of course we check it out, see if it has navi, yada, yada (figuring that the folks who parked the TL were doing the same with ours). We leave and yet pass a WDP TL on its way in. This occurs within a 5 minute period. That's just an example....

The TL's must be migrating....

Ahhhhh your Hartford bashing won't work on me since I am originally from Massachusetts and have followed Boston teams my entire life. As a matter of fact, no NY professional team has won a championship since the turn of the new Millenium....I have dubbed this "NY's curse of the new millenium".

And the Yankees are now stuck with "the curse of A-Rod" to boot. Each team that let him go got better, each team that got him got worse.

Nassau County. You come to the Five towns are and take a ride down Central Ave. Guarenteed to see at least 7-15 TL's. Keep in mind this stretch of road is only 2 miles at most.

...have a lot of the old school Acura's here too in PA....
When I usually see them (which is pretty often: Vigor, Legend, Integra) they're all "pimped" out w/ stop-n-go wheels (hell...I even see OLD mini-vans sporting those - LOL), a modified paint job, and a pair of dice hanging from the rearview mirror.

Many have the love for an Acura (no matter how different it may look)...
