New Website?

I am a Web Developer and I am interested in getting ideas for a new type of Acura website. I am a recent Acura TL owner and have been following this site for a few months. This site is brimming with great information and users, but I think there might be a void that can be filled by a new site.

I would like to create a site that:
  • Is strictly devoted to Acura
  • Allows users to have profile pages
  • Profile pages will allow users to show pictures of their car and list mods
  • Each mod will belong to a category so users can view profiles based on mod categories
  • Each profile page will have a "facebook like" wall for commenting
  • Allow users to submit tutorials and articles that will be searchable based on mod category

This site is still just an idea at this point. Do you think this is a good idea? Would you use the site? Do you have any ideas for new features?

Perhaps get with Ron A, this site's head honcho. He might be able to steer you in the right direction. Good luck!

I lol. This is almost going to an Acura dealership and selling a new Camaro to Acura customers. Are you serious?

AZ is fine. We don't need some gay like button or any other homosexual button that are used in social networking. Maybe you should visit Ramblings.

Oh hey, I'm a web developer too!

Your idea sounds great, but I don't see how well it will go in the future.

Neat idea, but I don't spend enough time on AZ as it is to have something developed as a social networking car forum. Yikes.

Is there something you'd like to tell us

On a serious note I do think AZ is fine the way it is. In the future I'm sure there'll be more of a blend between forums and social networking but I think I like it the way it is right now.

LOL. Just say it man..

Personally I think it's a great idea. I could see it like a Facebook, but instead of it being all about You, its about your Car.

Uhh, is it just me or does that sound almost exactly like Acurazine? The only difference sounds like it wouldn't be a forum, but a website.

Acurazine is, well.... basically devoted to Acuras exclusively
Every user has their own profile page
Profile pages have "walls"
3G Garage or whatever is for submitting articles/tutorials
There is a search button and you can narrow it down using the advanced search

and, there already is a like button. Thanks/thumbs up, same thing.

Acurazine IS like Facebook. The only thing it's missing is games, really. Instead of peoples' names, you can search for their usernames, both websites display your location, age, AZ's thread listings are like the Facebook feed, you have pictures of yourself/your car, people reply to feed posts/threads, etc.
