Question New TL Type-S Owner

Anyone know how to wire the fog lights to come on when the parking lights are switched on?

The car is an 07 TL Type-S.

I haven't checked the fuses and how they are set up. The easiest way is to wire the fog lights directly from the parking lights, but the problem is to see if the fuse could handle the extra drawn power. So the fog lights might work but may be dimmer. The best way to ensure not to burn out your fuse box, is the directly power the fog lights thru a wired relay, like the ones you can buy at the local auto parts to hook up any aftermarket off-road lights. There is an empty spot on the lower left side of the dash next to the side mirrors switch to mount the switch. This way you can turn on the fog lights any time. If you do any of this, spend the extra money and buy some extra fog light connectors from the dealer, so you don't cut the factory ones. So if in the future, if you change your mind all you do is unplug the wire relay and plug the factory ones back in. NO CUTTING INTO THE WIRE HARNESS.

The lights should be wired directly to the battery circuit via an auto relay. Put an independent fuse on the wires that go to battery. Use the parking light circuit as your switch for the relay. When the parking lights are on, it should cause the relay to engage. Do not just tap them into an existing circuit without a relay or you can increase the likelihood of an electrical fire from too much load, or may just keep blowing fuses. Without knowing the specs, this is the best way to go. It is possible that you may be able to use existing wiring, but I'm not sure of the specs. The safest way is *always* using a relay.

I had another idea. Wire up the DRLs, so you can turn them on for extra lighting. Make them into driving lights or extra high beams. This way you can override the DRLs.
