New tail-light assembly instructions needed
A couple of weeks ago I posted about me cracking the passenger rear tail-ligh assembly on my 2001 TL. I decided I am going to brave it and try to replace it myself. Found the part for $120 so since the dealer wanted $340 to replace it's a substantial labor cost for them to do it. My problem is, I have no idea how to remove the rear bumper and old assembly in order to replace it. Anyone know of any step by step online guide on how to do this?
Thanks as always for being a very helpful community for us non-mechanical types!!!

Thanks! Looks like the light is actually the bulb procedure not the exterior lens but the bumper part should help. if anyone has a similar doc w/ pix on how to remove the lens itself, please let me know.

Post #4 in the first link above, and then the first panel on the left, and also post #5 in the second link, tells you how to remove the screws and then the tail lights.
If by exterior lens you mean the entire tail light, then that is the procedure.

Thanks! Yes I mean the whole thing (the red casing on the outside of the car). When I looked it looked as if this was more about the actual bulbs but maybe it all goes together. I know some cars will let you take just the exterior casing off. I'll just follow the procedure and see what I have. I appreciate you saving me the $220 and hope I don't screw it iup
