No offense Kennedy, I meant no disrespect really. Just stating MO. Like I said...if you like it thats all that truely matters!!!! It is unique.
Not hurting my feelings, I dish out enough dirt and self righteous opinion to know soy boy mods like this might get a little dirt kicked at me. So be it.

Wait till I show the two tone interior, that will likely ellicit a similar response. I was waiting on getting 2 more pieces (map light plastic, and rear seatbelt clip), but it those parts are still expensive for some reason.

...but I will challenge the lip has any affect on handling... It's mounted to a soft pliable bumper cover with two sided tape for crissake.
The first 7K miles (before lip kit) I put on the car, and the last 15K (after a-spec body kit) were not different to me, and I drive near 80 mph for 40 miles up andf down I-95 (provided traffic cooperates)... and push to three digit speeds occassioanlly as well. I've never noted any "float". It's purely an aestetic mod, I don't care what ya say.

Show a link to previous ebay auction. The vendor I bought mine from showed this one to be the only TL cover listed in his feedback ever... and I haven't seen another since June. I've been watching too, because I had to file a paypal complaint to get the seller to ship. Do a "completed items" search for "acura tl carbon fiber". Ain't no OE fuel doors like this there in passed 2-3 months.

Stillhere, I'll PM you the link of the auction when I get home. I don't have my paypal security fob here to the office.

Either way, I think ua6spec shoudl make these for the folks that want em. It's noce, easy to install, relatively cheap detail.

I know...but I always try to be sensitive to other peoples opinions and feelings and didnt want to appear to be disrespectful....thats all. As for the lip....yep....thats one of the things that really disappointed me about the TL when I first got it was all the float in the front end at high speeds. (AT here...but doubt it makes a diff from manual) Directly after putting that lip on there it went away though....again....JMO though. I understand how its mounted...but air flow is changed drastically when its on there as opposed to not being on there.

As for how long those have been on there.....I wasnt the first one to say that they have been listed on ebay for a long time. I believe somebody else predated my first sight of them by one year? I just saw em two years ago....they said three! Either way.....as I said....its really what makes YOU happy....not every one else. As for the two tone interior....hmmm....could be interesting. Look forward to seeing it when you complete it.

I just didnt want you to get the impression I was hating on it or something. I have respect for everyones ride and efforts regardless of my own opinion or taste. As for the laminate statement....laminates have a tendancy to have issues after a while due to temp differentiations....especially where a metal core is involved. A lot of that depends on climate too though. If you live in Florida....you are less likely to run into a prob than if you live in Michigan or something like that where there are greater variences in temps. Either way....again...kudos for trying something new. I have a lot of respect for that.

Yeah the epoxy resin is "clear" & smooth, but it still appears to need some actual paint clearcoat for that shine to match the car ..

It's just the crappy Iphone camera. Suns out today. I'll take a pic in the sun. The finish is excellent.

Yes...it would suprise me greatly if they didnt clear coat it. Its kind of a 101 level thing for longevity and appearance. I am sure it is.

I don't really see the point. It looks like the door doesn't fit flush with the car. Kinda rice looking to me.

I fail to "see the point" of most of my mods... Why change perfectly good parts out for others?

Door sits flush fine.

When I hear the words "CF fuel door cover" my mind immediately thinks "rice!!", but it's growing on me. It's hard to find good built parts these days when "stickers/overlays" are so readily available for a fraction of the cost. Nice find!

Yup...I definitely agree. But not just for Chris' mod, for a lot of mods. I am happy with my car the way it is now, and I just finished telling the guys that all of this aesthetic stuff tends to get out of hand and yeah, it can get to be ricey if you start snatching off everything. It will always be up to the individual to do whatever they want to do to their car. They paid for it. That is the obvious. But that doesn't mean they always "should" do it...

I was actually this close of making it.
I bought another switchblade key for molding, but ended up nowhere since the inside was way to hard to mold.....

IME with CF, there's different thickness material for different applications, like R/C aircraft material is very lightweight... I wasn't thinking of making molds but instead covering factory parts, for "the look." Just the same as this gas door, it's an OEM part covered with a layer of CF... A service could offered where whatever the part is, it's purchased, covered and then sent to the buyer.
