Have you tried another brand adapter? I'm using a Phillips one that I bought for $8 and it sounds a lot better than a $20 Monster adapter that I had before.

No, good call though. The Sony one I bought had good reviews but I don't think it's that great. Where'd you get the Phillips from?

I got it from Wal Mart, but I've also seen it at Best Buy. Also, with my iPod, I have the music turned 4-5 notches from the highest volume and have the car volume on 10-20 depending on speed/wind noise, etc. It sounds just as good as cars with AUX jacks in my opinion.

$14 G'sssssss WHAT!! 600 Miles Away!!!!! WHAT!!!
15k you can get a 07 Type S with 130 140k miles on it. These TL's look real nice in picture bro. 55k miles is only a fraction of what you consider when buying a used car. IMO.

The 2007 and 2008 have the RL's transmission. This was their tranny fix from the previous years. The transmission from 04-06 has design flaws that gave it allot of problems, mainly in the 3rd stage I think. Poor design strange comming from a Japanese company. Might have been designed and built in the states for the TL and accord because both cars had problems with the tranny.

that design was originally sourced from Japan and production moved to stateside when the Japanese plant could not keep up

the transmission in my 02 CLS came from Japan and it made absolutely no difference as to how long it lasted..

As I understand it the base TL (3.2L) trans is not from the RL that is true only for the Type S.

My replacement transmission from 2008 has 66K on it and it is D O N E. it actually did not last as long as the original transmission in the car... Got an appointment with Acura Monday to see what the deal is.

pulsating when driving (feels like something inside the transmission grabs momentarily and then lets go)
will not go into reverse when extremely cold outside (read 10F or below) unless you put it in DRIVE first
when on a long steady cruise and you ask for a lower gear you get a slam when changing
changed the fluid at least 6 times in the last 66K as it turns brown before it is even time to change the oil in the car

I had an 05 and traded it in on an 08 Type S. Big difference in the vehicle. I liked the blue dash lights on the 05, but the 08 performance is fantastic. I would do it again given the same choice. You should be able to pick up an 08 type S for 17 to 19k with less than 75k miles. Good luck

Thanks for all your input. I will start the search for a white 07-08. I don't really want a S type because I am tired of driving stick (I know they make them in auto too) and I'm sure those waste more gas than a regular one.

No, that is not correct. For the years 07 and 08, both Base and Type S got the modified RL transmissions:
