New Member- First Acura (08' Type S)
Hey everyone, my name is Shawn from Indiana. In the process of purchasing my first Acura. I did a ton of research and landed on the 07-08 Type S. I then realized how rare they are (low miles / good shape) and only had a handful to choose from. I chose the best one I could find and it will be shipped to me next week. I was looking for some advice on what I should do right away once I receive it. Any help is greatly appreciated! Here is the car

Even with only 60k miles on it, probably would consider changing the plugs, not too hard to do. Probably change the ATF too, lots of information here about that. Make sure it is mechanically sound before spending any money on mods.

That car remind me of my TL-S back in the day, congrats on the purchase.
1. Spark plugs aren't needed right away if no slight misfire occur.
2. Replace all the fluids is a must, at 60k miles I am willing to bet that Z1 probable still inside the transmission.
3. Check and see if timing belt tensioner still good, at this point its a 50-50 chance. If its bad perform 105k service.

A lot of honda V6 engines like to leak from oil pump. Vtec solenoids, oil filter housing, valve covers etc.. Figure out how much it leaks. If you don't need to add oil between oil changes I would ignore it.
Oh and usually it's easier to find where leak comes from when engine is clean. Usually cleaning is a first step for finding small leaks.

oh sound like the oil pump assembly already leaking, well there you go it another reason to get the 105k service all done together. I wouldn't recommend ignore the pump just the fact that the car has such low milege.

OP I'll buy it from you? Have you noticed that MRP has a different look all day, I tell people that the color is Bi-Polar because it always changes. Bright in sun, stealth at night, sexy in the evening. The pearl is beautiful on this thing.
