A new kind of L.E.D. thread

Hey before everyone sighs and tells me to search, I wanted to make a new thread on what new products people have tried. I've read through all the old threads, checked out the products that people have used from various sights. But (almost) everyone I've seen are now sold out.Or the ones they bought they replaced after a little bit because they weren't bright enough. So I just wanted to see what people have replaced those old bulbs with. Which products don't work so much, which ones I should probably spend a little bit more money on, and so on.

well everything at v-leds is like 60 bucks. all the good deal ones are basically sold out or in red. would you say buying those package deals online are good or go buy them individually ? For instance http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Acura-TL-SM...ura_smd_09.htm good deal? http://www.uniquestyleracing.com/acclmdxrsxtl.html same as this one?

I just got the iJDMtoy package today and installed it and I'm pretty impressed. Its nice and bright without the high cost like V-LEDS. The package comes with 6 LEDs so you will need to buy some more for the reverse lights, licence plates, vanity, etc.

I bought six (4 dome, 2 doors) red 30LED panels from Vleds but I seen they no longer sell them....they are VERY BRIGHT for being red....personally I would highly recommend the panel design. A coworker bought some red leds for his interior off ebay and was pissed after seeing mine, he bought a set of red 48LED panels off ebay. Here a few crappy cell phone pics...still bright....

Door

Interior

Top (factory bulb), middle (adapter for led), 30LED M-SMT (vleds.com)

Installing in map light area

I would say the second link is best for the money. If you wanna spend more i have these http://store.ijdmtoy.com/38-SMD-T10-...10_sku_c02.htm they are really bright. for alot more money they have 68 led ones for $45 that are probably unreal.

I don't have a camera to take pictures. =/. I used 4 domes and 2 for the vanity. For my doors I just used some random ones that my friend gave me a while back. It's not as bright as the other LEDs though and I bought another pair for license plate and trunk light. I need to go exchange the trunk light though cause it doesn't fit. The pictures they have on their website of their TL package is pretty accurate. Its really that bright.

Licence plate
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/12-SMD-T10-...10_sku_c03.htm

for the packaging it just looks like this...

but with these bulbs...

there was a video i found on youtube a while back, with someone who had a red and blue one, and it would let the driver know if the ground was wet or black. pretty sure he was an engineering major at my school. but yeah i dunno about 7 colors haha. but if ya like it buy it.

I just bought the blue led panels off v-leds. They are having a clearance on the 25 and 30 led boards. I got mine for 5 bux each plus shipping, I got 4 of them.

You will find alot of members that have done this using the search function. Here is a HUGE bio of "the fearless diy guy" 3G TL. If you can think it, he has done it. Scroll through the pages and you will see all the leds he updated in his whole interior.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the LED reverse lights, either. They look more impressive to people outside of the car, but they do not help the driver to see any better.
HID reverse lights are on the way!

I got mine from superbrightleds.com , however most of them started flashing after two months and then just quit working. Put in PIAA and they are not bright enough. Any suggestions on bulbs that you had for a year or so, are bright and still works?

Those of you with dome light LEDs do they dim smoothly with the factory theater dimming when you shut the door? Or do they flicker as they get lower?

They may not flicker, but its no where near as smooth as the oem lights. LEDs don't do well as dimmer bulbs. Its still not that bad.

ya thats what I was afraid of, LEDS can dim just as good as incandescent bulbs if they are on a PWM dimming circuit which the TL obviously does not have because a PWM circuit doesn't work with incandescent bulbs at all!

hey have any of you switched out the bulb for your glove box and armrest? if so how did you get the brightness of the led to shine through the plastic casing. i feel as if the thick plastic takes a lot away from the bulb any suggestions without completely destroying the plastic?
