New Clutch for '07-TL-S 6MT. Suggestions Welcome.
So my clutch is getting a little too sloppy for my liking. I dont DUMP the clutch or grind the gears often (very rare).
But I was curious, what kind of clutch OEM or not should I get that would be perfect for my car? My mods are in my signature. It pulls very well above 4K RPMS, but under 2-4K RPMS it slips quite a bit, it's disrupting when I need to pass people on the highway and expect the push-back I used to feel. It pull FINE at upper RPMS but it does slip a bit when it goes into at HIGH RPMS.
My friend thought since it's sort of a "tugging sensation" it may be the engine, but if other 6MT TL users have this same thing happen then I ASSUME the clutch needs to be replaced.
So...
New clutch? OEM or not? And how much "should" this cost me? I went to Acura in Wappingers Falls, NY and they quoted it at about $2200. I want a GOOD mechanic to do it or an Acura or Honda dealer. Just let me know what you guys have all done in this situation!
Thanks so much in advance!

Member Hi speed used the stock clutch with his supercharger and made 350whp.
The stock clutch can hold up to these power levels.
so, if you're not running this power, it would be kind of a waste to buy a 1400 clutch.
UNLESS, you just want the heavier feel.
the OEM clutch is made by LUK.
I bought the OEM Clutch for $250 2 years ago.
but, being on this forum, I've learned that you can get it cheaper.
if you search LUk 08-047 in ebay, you can find them for $150 and it comes with the special tool.
I also went to an indie mechanic and had them install the clutch for $400.
all together I spent about $750
WAAAAY better than your quote of $2200

All you really NEED is tge oem clutch but if you want the heavier feel you should go with clutch masters, i went with stage 3 with light weight flywheel and loving it. If you have any question feel free to pm me i dont get on very often any more just been to busy ill see it in my email.

^+1000000 on the clutchmasters kit. I'm not sure if they do make a clutch kit for the TL-S but check. XLR8 might also. Can't go wrong with either companies. I love my fx300. It grabs hard and the pedal is slightly stiffer than stock. After sitting in other cars, every clutch pedal feels soft lolol.

I've always loved ACT clutches. They not only would spin 2nd gear in my 5th gen Prelude SH but it would then bark 3rd gear. That was in a car with 156ft/lbs of tq. God knows what near 250 ft/lbs would do .
