New 07' WDP Type-S owner -- A Spec question?
Okay, so I keep hearing people say "Type-S A-spec kit" and I'm very curious as to what they're talking about, are they referring to a kit to make your regular TL look like a Type-S or was there an optional kit designed specifically for the Type-S?
Here is a photo of my car for reference --

Do I have the "Type-S A spec kit"? And if not, can someone tell me the difference?
Thanks!

There are add on, Front, Rear and Side skirts
There is a specfic set for the Base TL and one for the TL-S.
Are your wheels the stock blue-grey gunmetal or are they painted charcoal/black? Or are they just dirty?

No your cars stock. There are add-on front rear and side skirts specifically for the Type S and regular TL that give the car a more aggressive look. They are different kits but some people force the type s kit onto the regular tl because they like that look. Personally I like the rear type s aspec kit but not the nose piece and the side skirts do not look that different from the stockers to me.

Ah, I see.. where could I get the Type S A-Spec kit? Anyone have a link? And does it replace any of the exisiting pieces or is it an add on with double sided tape deal? thanks.
Also my wheels are just dirty, lol.

You can get the kit at any Acura dealer. It's not just stick on. And they are replacements, not on top of.
Not sure on the TL-S's, but on the base model the side skirts go on with clips. Front are rear bumper lips require screw on plus tape. Maybe some cutting of the old bumper as well.
Look in the main 3rd Gen TL forum for a group buy from on of our vendors - better price than most dealers. Also search the photo gallery for cars with the kit.

Ok now I'm really confused, my bumper appears to angle downward towards the far ends like a darth vader mask so to speak, where as this stock photo of a type S goes straight across, so does that mean mine has a kit on it? I really can't figure out what this a spec kit is supposed to look like...

take a look at the photo area of the site and you can find TL-S kits. On the A-spec add-on parts, you can clearly make out the line where the new fascia part is applied to the old stock bumper. Its like an overlapping seam. Its isn't a whole bumper replacement.

Oh okay now I see.. It's just sticking up off the car more, it doesn't look like it extends down much further.
Is there much of a difference on the a-spec side skirts and rear? Maybe I don't need the kit after all.

Just an FYI the A-spec lip kit is a functional piece and not there just for looks. The motor trend article talks about the 04', but I am sure the type-s lip kit is a functional piece.

Buying the A-Spec kit.
I talked to Kaleb at the Acura dealer in AZ, he said I can get the kit shipped to me, pre painted WDP for $775 (749 deal ended apparently).
Question on installation, how hard is it to DIY, and how much of a worry do I have on paint match? I heard there were paint match problems on the WDP but would it be worse with the A-Spec or will it just be the same as the existing plastic pieces? about to pull the trigger on the kit and need these few questions answered to be ready to go.
Also is there much of a difference on the A-Spec side skirts? I can't find details anywhere.
Thanks all!
