I just talked to the dealer here in Northern VA that I will probably buy from if I get the TL. I had decided to wait until the 05s come out since things were close. I stopped by and asked if he knew any more since a month ago chatting with him (at that time, he guessed at release date of Sept, but said it could be Feb since the new RL is coming out in Sept/Oct and Acura doesn't like to have two car releases competing for attention at the same time). Today he confirmed that he has gotten 05 info from corporate on color choices. Here is the story he told me.....05TL will probably hit lots second week of Sept (in fact, he has already ordered some 05TLs for customers). There will be a color change....same colors as 04 except the Redondo Red will be replaced with a Ruby Red and can be gotten with Parchment, Camel, and another I don't remember interior. Since I want the red with parchment, I am now very curious about how the new red will look. Anybody heard this and know how the red has changed?! He doesn't expect 05TL brochures until end of Aug. He did not know of any other changes to the car over the 04TL (other than them fixing some of the bugs, I hope) and he thought (but didn't know) that the price may bump a bit....he expects to sell at MSRP initially.

Anybody have any more info on the 05TL?

They have used the name Ruby Red Pearl before several years ago. If it is the same color, it has a bit less maroon to it and a bit more orangish-red. It is very similar to Firepepper Red in the 2G TL. I bet the available interior colors will be the same, Parchment, Camel and Ebony.

I doubt any real changes for the 2005TL except maybe color. The car was redesigned for 2004. As said they will try to fix the bugs in the car but thats about it for 2005TL.
ACURA won't do a transmission or saftey upgrade like they did for the 2000TL when they just redesigned the 1999TL with 4speed transmission & the next year put the 5speed in the 2000TL along with side impact airbags & dual stage front passenger airbag a redesigned intake manifold & new DVD NAV There were moderate changes to the 2000TL.
Don't look for any changes like that on a 2005TL. ACURA should not be worried about the redesigned 2005RL hurting the TL. The RL will be another type of beast this time around & be the flagship of the ACURA line. The TL to me has been the flagship of ACURA since 1999.

I got the 04 brochure for Acura line and was amused to see the RL being called their flagship sedan and it looked Oh so stale and mild compared the the TL on the next page that I wondered why they just didnt leave the "flagship" comment out altogether.. hmmm

I think the 05 RL will redeam its flagship status ;-)

Can it be true???? Ruby red? you think that will be close to the Milano red that is offered on the TSK??? and do you guys think that is to girly lol

Well, people have complained about the maroonish color of the Redondo Red on the 04TL and I saw some pictures someone posted on this forum of his red 04TL that made me think the same thing. I think and hope the Ruby Red will be an improvement. If it is more like the 2GTL, that is fine. I had a 94 Integra Sedan in the red of that generation (I think it was called Torino Red Pearl) and if it is like that color, I have no problem with it...it was a nice shade.

I wouldn't mind $500 paying more for an 05TL especially if it gets Michelin rubbers and other potential tweaks like signal mirrors and blinking side markers.

Redondo Red is maroonish?? That's my color, and it's the most beatiful pearlescent candy-apple red color I've ever seen. (Even better when Zaino-ed). Hope they kill this color in 05, so the 04 Redondos become collector's items!!

The RL will always be a cushmobile, but perhaps now, a better one. They were askiong a lot of $ for an engine that dates back to the 1990's.

Ruby Red A-spec will be mint!

Im hoping for the old San Marino red from the CLS or the TSX red.

For those of us who left our secret decoder rings at home, could you please elaborate how this series of seemingly random words relates to the 2005 TL?

Some things are better left unsaid,but if you dont and must know here is some of the color line ups for the 05"s TL,RL,RSX,ect.... Right from the IN for dealers only. Oh Phil... Just put a comma next to every color and read on.

Can you please tell me which colors are going to come with a Ebony interior?

Which dealer are you talking with? I am curious b/c I live near Baltimore and I am going to be in the market to buy a TL soon. What is your dealer asking?

So true. Even when they "lowered" the "street" price via incentives, the RL was a joke the last couple of years. I would love to know what possessed anyone with that kind of dough to buy one. The '05 will need to be spectacular just to restore credibility to the model.

Love my Redondo Red TL. It is the best looking color of the bunch. And guess what - I have had my car almost nine months now, and I recall only seeing two others in the Redondo Red. The name may be somewhat strange, but the color is what makes MY TL unique.
