Angry Never made it to the store

so I was on my way to the store to finish shoppin for Christmas for daughter.. then all of sudden a snow storm hit ..another buffalo NY winter..... as I was driving, the roads were fine but as soon as I got on the expressway it was it was one of the worst conditions I've seen here no plows or nothing.......so I'm driving about 35-40 everythings going good.. then a truck swerved towards me i tried to avoid contact then all hell broke loose i started to swerve and lost control and these are the results right into the guard rail

Yikes. Nice to hear you're OK. I don't want to sound like a douche barking out repair costs (or lack there of) so I'll keep it to myself :p

Sucks, man. Doesn't look promising for your TL but that doesn't matter; As long as you're safe, that's what matters. Best of luck.

Can't really tell from just that picture. Insurance is VERY weird though, they'll total stuff out that shouldn't be and vise versa. You kinda never know haha. Glad your alright though, you can replace a car...not a person.

damn...really sad to see the TL in this condition and that was a lovely color too. Hope you are doing well. Now I am scared to drive over to Philly the day before Christmas, driving all the way from Toronto so gotta keep an eye on the weather before departing.

Glad you are safe.
Looks like your TL protected you well. Best of luck fixing/replacing her.
I continue to be amazed at how well these cars do in some of the atrocious crashes posted by other members. Please guys, be safe out there.

Could've been a heck of a lot worse, glad to hear you're okay.

Honestly, I think the damage looks worse than it is. Aside from the cosmetic parts (hood, fenders, bumper etc.), it looks like just the radiator was pushed back. Coin toss IMO.

Anyways, best of luck dealing with insurance and getting back on the road again

Glad to hear you're okay man. I don't think it's totaled though.. Hard to say, looks like your air bag deployed in the picture?

What are you driving in PA then?

And to OP;
I say this to everyone who gets into accident that's serious; PUSH TO HAVE INSURANCE TOTAL YOUR CAR IF YOU CAN!
Between my own personal experience with my TL and IHC's horror stories about the body shop that worked on his TL...ugh. But that's just me..Idk why but I can never look at a car the same after it's been in an accident. I just get sketched out.

The TL's a very common car. Easily replaceable, but we can't replace you bro. Real talk, I'm glad you're ok.

Glad to hear you're okay! We just started December and already 2 TLs in accidents that I've read about on here. Sorry to hear that and hope the insurance company works things out for you. Did you have winter tires on there??

Thank god you are safe and didnt hit the truck.

The car it will be totaled depends of the year. If it is 04-06 the value should be a lot less than 07-08 or even a type-S. Hope is not my friend.

Thank god i live in the carribean.

That's something I was always taught. Especially if it's a situation where they're changing lanes into you and you swerve into the car on your other side. Now they're fine and you're paying the deductable plus you're at fault.

yep.. plus it give you an opportunity to see if you can slide out their rear by pushing out their rear quarter panel. Fun to see their shocked reaction of being a dipshit and not checking their blind spot.
