Need your opinion on '08 TL I test drove recently

Test drove one on Friday (08TL base, 38K miles) and here are my observations:

Pros:
Engine seems to pull very smoothly
Handled very well
Liked the sport shift mode

Cons:
Rattles from dash
Rattles from moonroof
Squeaks from accelerator

I don't want to start a flame war, but wanted to check if this is what I need to expect from this model TLs? Loved the car, but the squeaks and rattles really made the experience bad. Currently drive a 02 RL that I was trying to trade, but coming back to the RL and driving over the same stretch of road, felt like a Lexus (although felt heavier and less fun).

Should I buy and are there easy fixes for the rattles?

Thoughts?

some TL's rattle...BUT you can pinpoint and fix these annoyances easily. my TL does not rattle and hever has, i guess i am one of the lucky ones.

i would just make sure the car is accident free, all body panels have matching VIN numbers, no overspray/clearcoat failure. get it checked out by an indy mechanic for $50 before you purchase it just to make sure everything looks normal.

I'm with Aaron. I am one of the lucky ones as well. I bought my 08 base in December with 44k on the clock and have not had any rattles since doing mods to the car or even while it was stock. I would check the things Aaron mentioned especially if you're not buying the car certified pre-owned.

Just got my 2008 TL a month ago and generally do not hear any squeaks or rattles unless go over 85 MPH which comes from plastic panel located next to driver's right leg. It stops when I lean my knee slightly to the right. It doesn't bother me at this time since I rarely get to drive on a freeway. My TL has 72K miles on it.
The only mood killer for me so far is the general concern for transmission. Since it is a new used car for me it keeps me constantly on alert to listen to any unusual noise or rattle. I hope to pass this worried period soon enough and get to enjoy this baby. Love everything about this car except being worried.

my 07 tls sometimes rattles just under the rear view mirror. its usually induced by high bass. other than that it doesn't bother because it doesn't occur all that often.

its personal preference.

OP rattling is a common issue in the TL, another issue is the lightning in the cabin love to goes out one after another. Lexus also suffer from the rattling issue also.
