NEED YOUR HELP- please look if you have had a tranny replaced out of warranty
my tranny recently went on my 2005 base tl,
i had it replaced privateley and it cost me 4200$ because i spoke with acura and they said they would in no way shape or form pay for any of the work and i was in a tight spot because i need my car
so i wanna hear from anyone who has gotten some type of deal or maybe a full replacement from acura because i am planning to open a lawsuit against them to try and get some or possibly all of my money back.
i have searched through the forums but i havent come up with many cases so any help would greatly be appreciated !
thank you

do you have a service history with your local acura dealer?
if you have searched this forum you should have found a crapload of cases regarding this issue.

Is the car out of powertrain warranty? If it is, don't waste your money with the lawsuit, if the warranty has expired Acura is under no legal obligation what so over to pay for anythng. You'll just lose more money in attorney fees and court costs.
If it is still under warranty, you are still going to have a tough time. Their arguement would be, if it still had warranty, you chose to have it repaired at a private shop, not a dealer, and they aren't responsible.
I get you are pissed, I would be to, but the unfortunate reality on this is you're probably shit up a creek on this one.

after the fact is a difficult thing to get money unless you were in limits and stranded 500 miles from a dealership
We ned more details of the encounter trying to get goodwill
A: what was your mileage at failure
B: was car seen by dealer- did you speak with Service MANAGER or the lowly writer who makes commission on this sale? and says no way will acura help you!!
gen2 went to court and got 7.9/109 warranty-
gen3 in 04 05 had the same trans as gen2 and corp has been good about GOODWILL- full or partial coverage after limits in most cases- but getting tougher with the poor economy
It depends if you have a service history with the dealer- acura has made some money off you,
and if the trans had a fluid change - I dont know gen3 book but they hid a mileage number in there somewhere- because gen2 was failing before reqiured oil service- kind of hard to fault owner then~
your best chance is written letters to acura corp in los angeles ca
BUT as said before- past the time and miles limits or either one- acura has no legal obligation to you for anything
thats why they SELL the extended warranties!!
court case- maybe class action suit for early failures same as gen2 did, but on your own- forget it

or it went into the dealer for diagnosis- service manager spoke to regional rep about goodwill on your behalf and was declined for xx reason?
