I think the $28,000 figure is in the ballpark, but I believe you'll need to hit upon the right person that wants the car. Even if the factory parts are include, many don't want a car that's been molested, although it seems to have been done in a tasteful manner.

Yep, take the weekend and remove most of the mods...
Wheels - $1500? no idea what axis's cost, but sell at a modest discount
Tails - $150
9000K bulbs - -$ 50
A-spec suspension - $450

That's almost $2K in parts there, and at those prices, they'd move quickly.

Not really worth the effort to remove the speakers, and you can't remove the A-spec body kit without leaving holes, so leave those.

Sell car for $28.5 firm, touting the leftover "mods" - apecs, speakers, and tint.

Just curious though, wh are you selling a 2006 in 2007? You're taking about a $4K loss, IF you can get $28K.

It's difficult to get back what you put into the car once mods are done. You figure out of all of the TL owners, what percentage of them are interested in mods? Maybe 2 - 5%?? The average TL shopper isn't going to see the value in the extras, compared to most people on here. Even with the stock parts...I think of someone like my Dad, he would never want the car, just because he's not interested in mods like that, nor would he want to spend the time to put the stock parts back in, ya know? just my opinion...

parting out the car will open open to more buyers, i doubt that people over 40 (no offense) would care for a sports suspension or custom rims, they would be happy with the stockies. Sell your stuff, get atleast your 2 K back and sell it for what KBB says. just my opinion.

KBB is overrated anyways. Just like they say, " Your car is only worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay." When I traded in my TSX, KBB listed $26,600 for trade-in value(I was shocked myself as it was high). I made a printout and bought it to my dealer, which they just laughed at me.

I think having aftermarket items(rims, speakers, i.e) maked it a little harder to sell. People knows that you kinda mess with the car a little. However, goodluck on the sales.

...putting on my buyer's hat....

I agree with others. De-MOD it (except the A-spec w/factory wheels, which may be considered as a factory upgrade) and sell the MOD parts separately.

If I was looking to buy and spending about $29k, I would be very hesitant pursuing any significantly MODded vehicle for fear of manufacturer warranty and quality of work reasons - even if the vehicle looked superb.

Also, note that the mileage of 32k in one year is considered very high - although, you may have purchased in 05. This does not help things.

Unless you find a MOD-friendly buyer who may be interested in your specific MODs, it may be a hard sell for $29ish - especially, if one could add a little more and buy a new 07.

well from personal experience, posting in sites like this one, I was able to sell both my previous rides to "kids" who because of my tender age of 49 thought that I didn't beat on my rides and drove to my house with cash on hand to offer me at least what I was getting for a trade in at the dealer....and both my previous rides had a few "mods" CAI, Magnaflow, HId's and other non stock items but I found the right buyers...so go figure..sometimes you just have to put a for sale sign and done deal...good luck...
