Need help using accord fog light switch for my halos

I have my halos wired up with the the wiring harness that came with the kit (relay, fuse, ballasts etc). Halos were tested and they work. I want them to be controlled by a switch and not the parking lights. The halo harness has 2 trigger wires. Why is there 2? When either one is connected to a power source the halos light up.

I bought this fog light switch and harness for the accord. Im pretty sure I dont need the harness so that was a waste. I think I just need the switch and the blue plug that goes into the switch with the wires from the plug.

There are 5 wires. Blue, green, red, red/black and black. Does anyone know to wire this switch up so I can use it for my halos?

I found this info in another thread. These are what each of the wires are for

#1) Blue: 12v Acc.
#2) Green: 12v + to signal fog light relay
#3) Red: Dash illumination 12v + from VSA #3
#4) Red/Black: Dash illumination ground (-) from VSA #2
#5) Black: Ground (-)

Now, how the hell do I hook this up lol???

Stop messing around with your headlights and put the dam turbo in. The vibration from the stiffer engine mounts are going to kill the halos anyway ( not really but who cares about cool headlights when you got 400 HP on tap).

That's correct, I think that might have been from my thread

Anyways, as it all states, you hook up #5 to the ground, #3 and #4 to the VSA so your switch will light up when your headlight are on.

#1 will go to a 12V source of power (like ifyou do the "add-a-circuit" in the fusebox, or if you tap into something else)

#2 will go to a trigger wire. I'm not wure which one however. I'm wondering if you'd put the 2 (red and brown) together and hook them up to the green.

LOL haha. I dont have the kit yet Im just killing time

The vibs arent really that bad to be honest. JnC's new method of installing halos has them stuck on the bezel so they dont move

OK please bear with me here lol.

So #5 can goto the same ground as the halo harness?

#3 and #4 get tapped into the same color wires on the vsa switch to power the bulbs? Im assuming the vsa switch has the same color wires??

#1 can go back to the positive battery connection? or the "green" wire Ive read about for the windshield wipers? whats "add-a-circuit"?

#2 to the trigger wire. I noticed that when I touched one of the trigger wires to the 12v source there was a small spark. The other trigger wire didnt do that. Any reason for this?

Yes, all grounds eventually lead to the same place, so you can ground them to the same point, however near this switch, there is a bolt with 2 ground already on it, I would ground the switch to that. Your halo harness would be better off grounded in your engine bay somewhere instead of running that wire back into your cabin through the fire wall. You also don't want to make grounds any longer than they need to be.

I don't recall if the numbers are the same. I'll take a picture of the VSA switch and make notes of the colors for your reference. Give me a day or so and I'll get this done.

Correct, #1 can go back to the battery, but the halos will stay on when you shut the car off unless you turn the switch off. If you use the green wiper motor wire, the halos will shut off when the car is off. Also, there is an empty spot in the fuse box near your left foot (i believe it's #32?) that you can use the add a circuit if you really want.

#2 to the trigger wire. I noticed that when I touched one of the trigger wires to the 12v source there was a small spark. The other trigger wire didnt do that. Any reason for this?

Beats me, sorry!

I have an LED emergency light attached to this switch, and I needed to disconnect it this past week, but I will be hooking it back up. I'll snap some pics and do a little more of a write up with that and put it up here so you have some more help.

I havent had a chance to tackle this yet but based on the instructions above it seems pretty easy to use this switch. Once I get things wired Ill confirm what each connection on the accord switch is used for

F***! I forgot abotu this thread and did the install without pictures. I'm sorry guys!

It's really as simple as this thread makes it out tobe though.'

Let me know what parts confuse you guys and I'll see if I can go into more detail and explain it.

Oh, and as for the VSA switch, if you tape the red wire on the fog harness to the red wire on the VSA switch, and teh red wire with the black stripe on the harness to the red with black stripe on the VSA switch, you'll be A-OK! The colors do match! (atleast in my '08)

Hmm, I just realized that my harness has different colors than yours! That could certainly be a problem. Here's an old diagram of the switch I found:

In this case the wires were as follows:

#1 Blue - Ground
#2 Red Black - Red Black wire on VSA switch
#3 Red - Red wire on VSA switch
#4 Green - + lead of the light I was working with
#5 Red Black Jumper - I cut the jumper and wired it to the 12V source

I'm sure I jsut made this even worse and more confusing, but really if you look at it, you're #1 - #5 is my #5 - #1

Seems pretty straight forward to me:

#1) Blue: 12v Acc. (Wire to 12v power source)
#2) Green: 12v + (Wire to whichever light you're using)
#3) Red: Power for switch illumination (wire to pin 3 on VSA switch)
#4) Red/Black: Ground for switch illumiation (wire to pin 2 on VSA switch)
#5) Black: Ground (-)

amirite?

I'm running a different switch to power the fogs. It has 3 prongs: a ground, positive, and the trigger.

My question is...on the halo harness, which wire is the trigger wire? And I still don't understand why there is 2 trigger wires??

How does the Honda switch work? Is it in the on position when it is pushed in or out? I believe it is in, but mine is behaving strangely.

When I start the car, the fog lights will turn on if the switch is in the off (out) position. If I push the switch in, the fogs turns off. Pushing it (out) does not turn the fogs on again.

If I start the car with the switch in, the fogs will not turn on at all.

I'm quite sure I have it all wired correctly. Including the information in this thread, I've used the following pictures to help me wire the switch and relay:

Well I'm running my setup to a separate switch.
I plan on running one trigger wire to the winshield wiper motor and the other to the switch.
Will that give me the control I need to turn the halos off and on at will, while the key is turned in accessory mode?

Basically what I want to do is have the halos turn off when not receiving power from the car and be able to turn on/off with switch while the car is powered.

Does this make sense?
