Need HELP!! Necessary additions...

All,

I realize many of you had a lot done to your car so far... I just got mine within the month and is purely a stock car... Anthracite, 5 speed automatic with Navi, rear deck spoiler, mud flaps, and Bluetooth phone (Motorolla V600). I have been contemplating tints last couple of weeks... Here in MD, I think 35% is legal... Any advice on additional necessities? If you are also in the Washington, DC area that can direct me to places, I'd really appreciate it as well! Thanks!

Unless you're going to add the A-Spec body kit, I think you have all the additions you need. I had the deck lid spoiler installed after I bought my TL (exact same color/options as yours but no mudflaps) and it finishes it off nicely. My past cars have had tinted windows because they were silver, but I'm not convinced it will look as good with Anthracite. I'm planning on leaving mine the way it is... stock and beautiful.

You can get an intake if u need more POWER. I got my car tinted, its 20% all around, had 35% on my 2 previous cars, it always seemed too light

The legal limit is 35% but many go past that. Also one of the veterans here figure out 35% tint film on top of the factory tint is closer to 28%. The MD law stated 35% total,I say this so you know the truth.

I had 20% put on and have had no issue (Since May). I have 25% on my MDX (April 03) and again have had no problems. I had HP Racing in Glenn Burnie do the tint and Clear Bra install and am happy with the end result. Get the Moleskin put on, I had to have the front windows redone as they got small scratches.

I am adding wheels as soon as RonJon releases them.

Good luck, welcome to the club and enjoy the car!

Can anyone tell me the benefits and negatives about Moleskin or ClearBra? I have no idea what they are... Also, if it is something I want, where in MD can I get them?

The moleskin is for the windows, some of us with tinted windows have been getting scratches on the tint. Acura did something different with the inner workings of the door that traps dirt particle, it doesn't scratch the window but the tint film can get scratched. The only negative I can think of is taking the door apart.

Clearbra is a clear film that is put on the front of the car/hood and mirrors that protect against paint chips. You probally have seen the normal bras (black cover on the front of a car). Same concept and results with a different look. The main concern is the clear bra is it will turn yellow. They have warranties for that but do some research first (3M, Clearshield, EXPel, invsiguard in a google look up) I have a 97 CL with 180K and the front is all chipped up so it was a no brainer on the TL. I just need to get the MDX done now.

I had both the tint and clear bra done by HP Racing in Glen Burnie as I mentioned before. They are familiar with the moleskin as well, just ask for Scott and tell him you need the moleskin for an 04 TL.

Clearbra saves your bumper, mirrors, and hood from getting chipped by rocks and getting ickyed with bugs as much. Moleskin protects your windows from dust and such that can get in and scratch your tint.
