NEED HELP installing Type S decklid spoiler
#1
I am going to be installing a type S decklid spoiler. I can't find a template anywhere for where to drill. For those that picked up the type S lip how did you guys end up drilling it onto the trunk of the car? I will apply the 3m automotive tape but I also definitely need to drill it into the trunk for safety purposes and to ensure that it stays on the car. 3m tape is sufficient for holding onto the base trunk lip but I dont think its enough to hold onto the type S lip especially in colder weather. Please let me know if you guys have any info on how I should approach it.
The best idea I thought of was taking out white (I have an NBP TL). I apply whiteout on the back of the type s lid where the screws go and then I place it onto the trunk. I remove the lip and I should have white spots on exactly where to drill. Does anyone know how many screws are on the back and what size drill bit i should use?

Why not just get a sheet of parchment paper or something?
Temporarily tape it to the spoiler, mark the holes---poke a hole through the paper even to line up with the holes.
Then tape the paper to the trunk then drill.
edit: also I believe some members have used just 3m tape. i do believe it should be enough to hold it to the trunk [given you use the good kinds].

It may not need be screwed but it is strongly recommended. In all the threads regarding the Type S lip (not aftermarket-- only OEM) the Type S failed to stay on for a long periods of time with tape. The only place it may is the south where there's almost no snow or harsh winters.
