Need help with aftermarket wheel fitment pls.

ok, i went to look at these wheels this guy is selling this afternoon, they are 18 x 7.5 Racing C5 evolution one piece with Toyos 225/40/18 with offset of 44 the guy is selling it for 750.. tires have about 70% tread left no camber wear, tires and rims are flawless....

anyways i was wondering will this fit ok with our 04 TL? i know the stock wheels are 17 x8 with 45 offset.... will it have any effect on performance and handling and feel being half an inch less wide.. pls help acura dealer dont know jack i called them they didnt even know what the offset of the stock wheels were...called discount they say car is too new.. so i turn to this helpful forum. Thanks in advance

The 225/40-18 tires are slightly smaller than your OEM 235/45-17 ones. It causes the speedo to read too fast. Refer to this website:

I believe RH Evo C5 is 42 offset. Your OEM wheels actually stick out about 3 mm more than the RH rims. It creates the illusion that the RH rims seems "sinking" in the wheel well, for the lack of explanation words.

And lastly, I wouldn't want to ride on narrower wheels and tires because of less ultimate traction and grip.

Well, if it's a 44 offset, then the wheels will "sink" in even deeper (2 more mm).

Personally, I wouldn't buy them. However, if possible, test fit the wheels on your car and see if they look good. I'd get at least 8 inch wide and probably 35-40 offset.

Good luck wheel shopping!
