Mystery dent ... how did this happen?

For the last 4 months, I have always avoided other cars in the parking lot, to the extend my gf jokes I park all the way out in Kansas. I noticed this dent a few days ago, and I can't quite figure out how I got it. It's on the upper edge above the passenger door. It didn't look like someone key'ed it, because the surface was still smooth. Looks like someone dented it using a dull object??

Do you use a manual car wash bay station?

I had a dent like this on my previous car. Turned out I had my son help me wash my car one day. Later that day I saw the dent. I asked about it out loud when I saw it and my son told me it must have happened when the brush tool with the long metal arm fell out of his hand and hit the car.
So, do either of you use a manual car wash bay station? Do you use the foam brush tool? It may have been possible that it slipped out of your hand while using the soap. Maybe the soap buildup concealed it from your view at the time. Then you used the no spot rinse cycle so you didn't have to dry it so you would have noticed it right away. That is my guess for now.

I'm going to vote for the deflected roadside rock. At some point, you were cruising on the highway with the radio just blasting and you didn't see the rock coming and you didn't hear the rock smack you.....but it was a rock.

Hmm......the answer is in the reflection on the window. At the lower right edge of the terrace, there is some concrete missing from the facade.

BJ, if it's a rock would it not take some paint away? It's puzzling.

He said paint is fine tho - so that rules out rocks etc. Something plastic or heavy dull object maybe...dents suck.

It is not a dent. Check your Acura manual. It is normal operation of the vehicle. Thank you.

Sleep Washing

I think since I'm so obsessive with washing TL I might have washed it in my sleep and maybe California Waterblade I used slipped off my hands and put a dent there. I need to tie me down to the bed.....honey! where are those hand cuffs?

SUV side mirror - like on the Excursions, those HUGE ones. Someone opening a door with those things swinging out wide hit your car.
