Congrats man on getting one of the best stylish cars in the world lol. Sporty looking as well as luxury and let's not even get to how reliable and cheap maintenance these cars are . They're also great on gas and on getting attention from other drivers while driving on the highway lol. Just make sure to say hello to your fellow TL'ers on the highway :P

Thanks! You too, enjoy your new car! Honestly, these cars are so tasteful without modifications I don't have any exciting plans for it. I'm pretty happy with it how it is.

Haha, thanks man. They sure are stylish, I really like how "laid back" the body lines make it look from the side. All around it is just such a sporty looking car!

It's doing really well on gas. I only went through 1 tank so far, which was the tank the dealership put in, I'm thinking they used regular 87 octane, light throttle I was getting little hiccups under acceleration. I'm about half way through a tank of 94 and all is well and as it should be.

The tank of regular I averaged 33 mpg, granted I do 90% highway driving...I'm a huge fan of shifting around 2500 rpm as well. I do tend to jump on the throttle a little when entering a highway though. lol

I took a few quick snaps today, moar pictars will arrive once she is clay'd/buffed. I plan on doing a 2 stage buff using my 7424XP. The first will be with a general use Polish and then the second will be wax. Meguiars products have never steered me wrong so that is what I plan on using. Now to just fit it into my schedule. lol

Here is the list of things I've done so far, although nothing spectacular I must say it feels good to tweek the car how I want it, give it some personality.

-removed a few stock stickers from side windows
-magic erasered all floor trim where feet commonly rub
-cleaned grime off headlight/wiper stalk ends
-restored headlights
-mother's polished exhaust tips
-all the steering wheel light bulbs were replaced
-install passenger rear door handle cap
-touched up a few spots on the hood/front fenders w/ Acura touch up paint
-hand polished a shit ton of scratches off my sideskirts

Things left to do, just got the parts today:

-5K LED license plate bulbs
-Silverstar fog light bulbs
-Acura cabin filter

Things coming VERY soon:

-20% tint on back windsheild, 35% on all others (Appt. Tuesday)
-painted OEM mud guards (ordering tomorrow)

Honestly I'll be just happy with the car how it sits after my last few things are completed.

My dealership plastic protective cover is still on my driver's floormat. LOL

Oh, I forgot to mention that I also hand polished the shiny black trim around the windows.....WHAT A DIFFERENCE THAT MADE!

Haha it reminds me of me when i first got my TL. I would drive my baby anywhere just to show her off. I always try to keep it clean and good looking but right now it needs body work since some haters has keyed, put dings, and fuked up my bumpers in the past few months. It's new york city bro so is bound to happen when u leave a car with these outdoors lol. Once i take my baby to the shop to remove all dings andbhave everything repainted will keep her in a garage at all times.

TypeS rear sidemarkers + tint are a great first start. The base red rear sidemarkers are so ugly looking to me after I changed to typeS. Car looks 100x better with tint as well. Perfect starting point for both of you.

Sorry to hear man, best of luck getting it sorted out!

I'll have to look into that, I am honestly happy with it how it is aside from lacking mud guards and tint. The mud guards are tomorrow and tint is Tuesday.

Either way I'll hunt down a picture of the sidemarkers you're talking about and think it over. The red ones contrast well with my tail lights I think.

I'm hoping this information will help someone else out but either way here goes......

So I received my mud guards today from my local Acura dealership, 25% off brought them to $105 with PA tax. I ordered them painted for an 07/08. I just wanted to confirm they fit perfectly and are a very nice n tasteful modification.

I agree with GeaugaDog the red side markers have to go for sure. The Type-S side markers follow with the car a lot better.

Here is my 2006 tl aspec.

I put in a new OEM cabin filter today. Also did my first oil change on the car using a Honda filter and Mobil 1 5w20. After reading about how the TL's respond to different oils I may jump to a 5w30 next time around.

Also, the oil filter surely is at a weird location from what I'm used to. It seems like no matter how careful you are you still end up making a mess. lol

I do like the 4.5 quart refill, my Volvo took 7!

Gas mileage wise I'm averaging 31, this is by the divide the trip miles by gallons it took to fill method.

I only filled up twice so far but each time I saw ~410 miles and each time it took ~13.2 gallons. I found a Sunoco that offers 94 octane w/ that stupid ethanol. lol

That's a great change as well, my Volvo had an 18 gallon tank @ 22/23 MPG highway.

I do drive mostly highway and have a habit of shifting @ ~2500 RPM, riding in 5th and 6th as much as possible. I won't run it up a hill @ 40 mph in 6th gear but if I'm going 40 mph on a long flat road sure, why not use the gas sipping gear.

Haha, it's cool. I honestly am often very tempted to cruise at higher speeds but the gas mileage is too attractive. About 12 years ago when my father was teaching me how to drive my first manual the up shifting as soon as possible has just stuck.

I will get a little aggressive with 2nd/3rd entering a highway but settle in around ~62/55 or ~72/65. A little less if I'm moving faster with traffic, no one wants to stick out to police. lol

I envy you and your manual transmission. I guess paddle shifters will have to do for now.
