Are my calipers Brembo
I picked up a 2007 TL Type S and the brakes are mushy. The dealer said I need a master cylinder and calipers $3,000, I almost fainted. I have done some work on cars but not super confident. My bother-in-law is a big car guy and said if the calipers are not binding or leaking which they are not, then replace the master cylinder and rebuild the calipers and while you are at it throw on new pads.
I am going to follow his advice unless someone on the forum feels otherwise. When I read through the forum it appears that the Brembo Brakes are black rubber and say Acura on them . Mine are black rubber but do not say Acura, so not sure if Brembo. I have enclosed a few pictures.
If anyone has advice on repair and can help me determine if they are Brembo that would be great.
Thanks all.

They should be stamped "brembo" on the back side if they are legit. You can buy reman calipers on RockAuto. The "Acura" lettering is just a sticker.
I assume you're already tried bleeding the system. Right?

All '04/5/6 TL's with manual transmission and ALL '07/8 Type-S have the same 4-piston Brembo setup. I've gotten all my replacement parts from Rockauto including the rebuilt black Brembo calipers, without the Acura logo.
