My 2005 TL

I just traded my 07 Civic Si Sedan ASM for a 2005 Acura Tl SSM with Nav. To say I love this car is an understatement. Just wanted to introduce my myself. Great info on this site and hope to contribute.

I just ordered my zaino kit so I can get that paint gleaming- Thanks for the welcome. Trying hard to avoid the mod bug on this one- mainly focused on getting the PM up to date.

Welcome aboard! Congrats on your TL. SSM is a nice color. Register her at www.myacura.com and save the Navi and Radio codes there for safe keeping.

There is nothing wrong with modding. Just do it tastefully. Congrats bro on your car. It feels good to feel all that torque coming from the SI's 138ft/lbs to 233ft/lbs eh? .

I went 15% on the tint- dark enough to still sort of see out when backing up at night.

The torque- oh many its like night and day- i dont think I've even pushed it over a 1/4 throttle yet- I used to have to floor the Si and then nothing would happen until Vtec at 5800rpm.

I have modded every car I have owned so it will just be a matter of time. I like the A-Spec kit. Maybe eventually coilovers. Still not sold on exhaust- kinda like the way the stock tips look.

Welcome and congrats!

The A-Spec kit is the first thing I would recommend so I'm glad you already have your eyes on it. If you are unsure of exhaust, look at the ATLP Base set-up. The tips look like larger stock tips, not circular at all. I have it on my car and I love it.

Alright- had a productive weekend- did the 3x3 tranny flush, radiator flush, power steering flush. waiting for 3rd and 4th pressure sensors to come by ups and will tackle them next weekend. I tell you though- after the tranny flush the shift are quick and precise. Now I am trying to find a set of gunmetal aspec rims or something that looks as good. , aspec lip kit and aspec suspension. Anybody have a vendor that give AZ discounts?

AckTL05 can get OEM parts.
rob_acuraoflynnwood can get OEM parts.
OEMacurapartsTim can get OEM parts.

idk about any AZ discounts, but these are 3 people that we all go through here. also, keep an eye out in the black market section. you can save a lot of money buying stuff second hand.

Good advice- It seems the aspec are highly coveted though especially the 8.5 Gunmetals.

I keep going back and forth- I love a wheel with a lip- and I lean to mesh style on the 3rd gens- but cleaning is a bitch. I was looking at some Axis and TSW- but would want to do staggard 18's- I may just get the suspension and lip kit for now and hold off.

Welcome! Always nice to see another Pinellas county member on here! I have the same car as you but it's an 06. You are really gonna love it. How difficult was the coolant flush? Did you drain the radiator and engine block? I will be doing my tranny flush and pressure switches too next week. I am hoping it will not be too much of a PITA.

I hate to say it but I had the dealer do it because I dont have a garage space to work in- I watched them do it and they actually just lift the car and put it in gear instead of driving it around for the 3x3- Crown gave me a pretty good deal on all three. They used an evac machine for PS and Coolant. If you want to get together for the pressure switch install let me know- I am a little hesitant on that one and it would be good to have a second set of eyes.

I take my car to Crown as well. They have been great to deal with. What kind of deal did they give you for the services? Let me know when you get the pressure switches and we can try to meet.

Nice! How do you like the new suspension? You should remove your rear emblems too. Its really easy to do and its a free mod. I just got my pressure switches so let me know when you want to get together.

Havent got the suspension on yet-maybe next week. I am waiting for my redline to come in to do the switches- it should be here by Monday. I have family in for xmas- so I am thinking the week of new years if that works for you- we could use the warehouse at my work.

Ok here is an update- Like all my rides- the mod bug has struck- These are after a 6 hour zaino clay bar session- I put the suspension on last weekend and am getting it aligned- will take more pics when I get it back. In the next few weeks Aspec lip goes on and then, and then and then................

They are the painted silver/black chrome looking wheels- They match perfectly with the type S tails. Stock wheels were traded for these.

Always tell myself I will stop- jpipe and exhaust are prob next after lip kit.

Damn dude you're making some real progress pretty fast. The A-Spec kit will seriously make your TL look like a different car.

I desperately need to get the 3x3 flush and sensors done.
