Movin' on up - Traded 99 for 05 TL
I have been drooling for over a year, and I finally got my new toy (05 AM/Q AT Navi). I have had a 99 TL for five and a half years, and loved the car. Never had a problem and drove great.
But this car.....Whoa Nellie!!
I did a test drive of the TL and RL, and while I love the RL, I'll take the TL's youth factor and the extra 15K in my pocket. I have yet to test my baby (gotta break her in gently), but I drove a demo for the morning while they prepped my car. I hadto hold back from wanting to pass everyone just to test the new horsies. There is a distinct difference in the handling as well, much tighter and more like the sports car I used to have just after college.
I tested the G35, and it was a very nice car. It seemed tighter inside, but I did like the rear wheel drive. The TL just has way more techno gadgets and features. I thought about waiting until the TL got the SH-AWD from big daddy RL, but I can't put off satisfaction that long. Besides, I have had a good year, and I deserve the spoils of my labor.
Lastly, thanks go to you all for this forum. I have been reading your posts for quite a while, and it helped me feel even better than I do about getting another TL.
Can't wait till that odometer gets to 500 miles. Till then, I am drivin' like my mom.

Welcome, I think you made a good move and will enjoy your new toy (tool). Break-in is 600 miles. I did mine with one quick weekend trip right after I got it. Just make sure you vary the speed by shifting manually. Have fun and Happy New Year.

congrats on your new car. got my 05 TL AM/ebony navi 3 months ago. treated her like a baby during the break in period. however, I thought the break in period was 1k which i just reached this past weekend. now all 270 ponies can come out and play.

I got $9900 for my trade, which had 75K miles on it. It was well maintained, but had a number of small window chips and some needed work on the rear bumper (two paint scratches down to the platic from someone at the mall).
I know I could have done better by selling it, but I didn't want to deal with that. Also, there is a sales tax advantage to trading which equalized it a bit.
