More seat time in a 08 base TL with navi

Well after 1K miles, my replacement trans in my 02 CLS is dead..........so yes, I got a 08TL to drive for a day or two......... brand new with only 1800 miles

1. Why couldn't they give the message reader a FEMALE VOICE? it seems kind of odd to have steven hawkings voice read messages from acura link and a female prompting you for the rest of the car (HFL)

2. This one seems to drive much better than the last 08 TL i had

3. a little floaty compared to the CLS amd considerably more body roll

4. slower off the line but it really picks up once it's rolling where CLS power delivery seems to be more constant

5. Seats not as grippy as the CLS seats (side bolsters)

now with the nit picking out of the way, lets get to the good part

1. Navi is awesome easy to use and easy see even in bight daylight

2. Instrumentation is nice with LED backlights although the blue "rings" can take a hike

3. Trip computer is sweet, lots of information easily accessable regarding the car

4. Steering is very good, slightly better than the CLS

5. Thank you Acura for putting the hand brake back where it belongs

6. HFL is sweet although I wish I would display names of callers

7. SS mode works properly (holding car into 1st gear)

car is much quieter than the CLS (yes I know the CLS lets more engine noise in for sportyness) and seems to get slightly better fuel economy although the gearing appears to be the same. Mirrors appear to be slightly larger and give a little bit better visability. Backup camera is very nice when parking (I gotta get me one of those) turn in and turning circle appear to be smaller.

Car "feels small" when you are inside since the door appears to be so close to your head.I am 5'6" and I have to tilt my head when i get into the car or i smack it on the door jamb. Once you get in the car there is more than enough head room. Car drives like it is small and it is easy to toss around...

I believe you can change between a male and female voice. I have it on my car.

Setup screen #1 should give you the option to change the navi voice from male to female.

Don't think he's referring to the Navi voice. He's talking about the message reader where for the first month of owning the car, they spam you w/ messages (that lil mail icon on the upper right of the Navi screen).

I think the TL-S or an 04-06 TL would be a better option for you than the 08 base. The 08 base was softened quite a bit to make it more of a comfy, older person's car. The 04-06 was more sporty, and the 08 TLS built upon that sportiness with more power, better seats, better suspension, etc.

Umm u can hold 1st gear till redline and so can you with 2nd gear. And the engine in the TL alone can take the cl-s by its self. I wouldn't even consider getting a Cl-s haa.

engine isn't everything, look at the size and weight of the CL-S. Also the CL-S is a 6spd with closer gear ratio's. Power isn't limited in a CL and the suspension geometry is slightly better for the CL. You CAN't HOLD first in an 04-06TL, you can in an 07+ TL.
