modded '09 GTI vs TL

I'm tired guys, so I'll make it short. 2 lanes merge into one. Probably about an 1/8th of a mile long. 25 roll. I pulled right as soon as we honked it off, about 1.5 car lengths. Then I heard his turbo spool (loud as hell) and he managed to not only catch up, but pass me and pull at LEAST 2 car lengths before he lets off. That V-Dub was fast!

Night Azine. hahah
P.S. - the kills section is dead, that's sad.

I don't know if it's the same as Audi's 2.0T, but if it's similar those things can be chipped to something like 270wtq.

yeah those VW are nice, but over rated IMO. Some dude claimed to make 600hp on his GTI, my buddy with a 91 notchback mustang swapped in an LS1 motor into it, he pulled on that GTI no problem, LS1 was bone stock lol.

He clearly didn't have 600hp.

Having 600 horsepower is one thing.

Utilizing 600 horsepower is entirely another. It's nearly impossible to put 600 horsepower to the ground in a GTI. You'll get torque steer, wheelspin, or both, assuming your axles, joints, even your entire engine can handle all that.

Or maybe he just didn't have 600 hp

Didn't want to start a new thread for this kill.

I ran against an Auto 2002-2005 Jetta 1.8T tonight. At most I think he had an exhaust.

60-80 roll: I fucked up in sportshift and I was in 3rd gear instead of 2nd but I still pulled a 1/2 car length by 80.

45-105: I was in the right gear this time. We honked it off, I heard his turbo spool and I pulled...long and hard. Over a bus length when we shut down.

50-105: Same thing...

I thought the 1.8T was one of the more powerful engines in the Jetta

those jettas are slow as hell unless you do some major work on em
i smoked this guy at my work that was raving about how his 1.8t would smoke my tl just because hes lighter and has a stock turbo and custom exhaust. i sure showed him one day wen we were driving home he decides to jump in the right lane and floor it to cut me off and i let him come right up beside me before i floored it and smoked his asss left him in the dust

I know the 1.8t is not that fast stock, but we ran for fun. I guess for me personally it was more about seeing the difference between the 1.8t and the (stock) '09 GTI I ran previously.

The newer ones ('02+ I think) have 180hp (engine...not at the wheels). I had a chipped/exhaust '05 1.8T...even with the supposed ~40 hp that the APR 93 reflash gave my car...it wasn't all that impressive. A TL shouldn't have a problem beating one.

the newer jetta 2.5 5 cylinder is actually pretty quick. my other buddy at work has one 5 speed manual with a chip and exhaust and intake and he used to keep up with me from a roll. when i only had intake/exhaust/pulley.
