Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Change Interval

Does anyone think we can go 2 oil change intervals on the extended performance Mobil 1 Oil with the Extended Performance Filter also from Mobil 1?

This would be awesome if this was possible with no adverse effects from the oil. They do advertise 15,000 mile intervals? I think my MID tells me to change every 4,500 miles give or take. That would mean 2 intervals would be under the 15,000 mile guarantee from Mobil 1?

What do you guys think?

I did it once and had it tested at Blackstone Labs, it showed a little higher wear levels, they recommended 12K mile changes. I have been doing 10K mile changes for about 50K miles now just for ease of memory. The car has 140000 miles on it and I just sent the oil out for a test.

If you go for 15K, I would recommend a filter change at 7500 miles and Blackstone recommended one at 6000 for a 12000 mile change.

Your MID should be showing oil change every 10K miles. That's the interval I use.

^the MID calculates off of engine RPM and some other factors(which are noted in the owners manual)

so if you drive 100% city and are hitting vtec daily, you'll see the oil life indicator go down faster.

my mid told me to change my oil when i had about ~5500 miles on it.

i didn't follow the mid and drove til a total of 7500 miles before changing my oil

i'm pretty sure you can go 10,000 miles between changes easily. i use mobil 1 EP also.

a friend of mines uses amsoil in her 8th gen accord and she oil changes every 10k

Once again, you could probably run it to 20k miles, but the filter wont last. If you change your oil every 10k miles change the filter at 5k.
