Mirror tilting in reverse
On my TL only the driver's side mirror tilts when reversing.
If I understand this feature correctly it is to let you view the curb while parking. Technically, I would expect the passengers side mirror to tilt. Wouldn't you? I mean, if I am parking the curb is normally on the passenger side of the car. I just thought it was odd the drivers side tilted but not the passenger. Steve |
Flip your mirror switch to right. It will tilt depending on which position your mirror switch is located.

In my opinion it makes perfect sense that only one mirror should tilt down at a time so that the driver still has a clear rear view of possible pedestrians or moving vehicles.

I think milano's was questioning whether or not the passenger side mirror tilted like the drivers side does, not whether they both tilted at the same time. Novice gave the correct answer above.

Thanks, I will try flipping the switch.
I thought it was odd that when reversing only the driver's side tilted automatically. The potential to curb rash is more likely on the passenger's side... at least in the United States where you drive on the right side of the road. Steve |
Milano, if I were you I'd be pissed at my salesman/dealer for not taking the time to go over these features when you took delivery.

Salesman
Well, I can't be ticked at him. It is suppose to be my wife's car. They had pulled it into the showroom so they could sit inside the dealership to review everything her. I am sure they did.
Unfortunately, I couldn't be there. Oddly, she prefers driving the Expedition and needless to say I prefer the 6 speed TL.... Steve |
