Minor Rear Bumper Hit leads to Compliments
I was at a stop sign this past Monday and got bumped by the car behind me.
A minor tap but the bumper will need refinishing.
Now for the compliments
After providing her info, the person who hit my car said "that's a nice car".
I brought the car in to be appraised and the appraiser said "That's a really nice car. My brother just got one. I got to drive it and it has a lot of pep".
Later, I called the insurance company of the owner of the car which hit mine to see about rental coverage. The representative told me "That's a really nice vehicle".
Getting some damage and dealing with the repair is certailnly an annoyance but the compliments ease the pain.

Vffr1,
A good one.
She did not even want my info though I offered.
She mentioned that I should file against her insurance (this turns out to be incorrect as the claim follows the vehicle).
It was her boyfriend's car.
I learned an odd insurance fact.
The claim will be paid against the owner of the car's policy.
The driver (not the owner here) will pay the surcharges.

Actually, I went to update my toll tag in person a week after getting the TL, and one of the things they want to know is make model and year of the car. The response from the young lady was, "Oh, those are really nice cars."
Since she was updating my file, she already had my phone numbers...
Hasn't called yet, though. ![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Three Wheelin'
In a way I miss the cheesy cheap old black rubber bumper on my first Toyota many years back. It didn't look anywhere near as nice as the body-colored bumpers of more expensive cars like the TL, but you could sustain a 5-10 mph bump from the rear with NO damage whatsoever.
