Don't miss the winters but was born and raised there! Wish I still got up there more than once a year. Nice color choice.

actually, there are 4-5 members in MN. there is another post with their responses.

anyway, I don't think there are that many TL owners in MN anyway. but how is the TL doing in MN - sold out or what since there are only two Acura dealers in the whole state (I think).

here is the thread with some MN members: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147814

There are 3 Acura dealers in the State now. I got my TL from Bloomington Acura Suburu. I highly recomend them. They were willing to bargain and they have provided great service before, during, and after the purchase of my TL.

oh, Welcome to the club.

the sad thing with MN is that there is only a hand full of enthusiasts...

Count me in. I got my 2006 about 6 weeks ago at White Bear. Closest overall. 6MT. Average experience.

Anthracite/Grey interior.
Daytime running lights.
Tint hopefully soon.
More?

Have you guys been experiencing more Rattles and sqeaks than usually since it has gotten colder? I've had my TL for 4 months (bought new summer of 06). I have take it 2-3 times (can't remember) in for rattles. Each time the dealer fixes the rattles, but then 3 more rattles takes it place.

How are you TLs handling the cold?

My sister bought a TSX 1 month after I bought my TL and her car does not rattle at all. Strange that a car that cost $10K more than the TSX would have more squeaks and rattles.

On the plus side the Bloominging Acura Sub. has been able to fix the rattles, but it is just such a pain in the @$$ to have to take the car in for service, plus like I said, once 1 rattle is fixed 3 takes its place.

Is this just the price we have to pay for good looks and great handling?

I actually see quite a few TLs in Minnesota. Most common color I see is NBP which is driven by a woman. Got my TL at Bloomington Acura because they were the most willing to deal. Buerkle was pretty snobby and not willing to deal because if I didn't want it, someone else would. I do get my service done there because it's closer to home. '06 ASM w/ NAVI TL for me, by the way.

I would echo montyburnz's comments. I wasted 2 hrs. of my life at WBL because they weren't willing to deal. Went to Bloomington a week later and had a fair deal after talking with the sales manager for 15 minutes.

Here's my stats:

Anthracite/Ebony
Automatic
Navigation
No mods as of yet

Love my TL!!!

Not a TL owner quite yet, but in Minnesota none the less.

The Bloomington guys seem like a great bunch. The crazy Russian is the most well informed salesman I have ever met.

So fellow Minnesotans...how many of you are going to be using winter tires? I am still on the fence whether to buy cold weather tires or not. It is not so much me as it is the wife. Tint, floor mats, wax, leather protector, etc, etc appears to be starting to get on her nerves. The car only has 2000 miles on it- I am having a hard time justifying the extra expense.

Count me in also. I got my 2006 in mid-August from Buerkle. I worked with their ISM and got a fair deal ($32.2K + TTL) on a 5AT NAVI. Better than average experience. I have a little over 5K on the odometer, and the only rattle so far is with the sub on certain bass-heavy music, and I'll try to fix that myself. Did have to replace one of the Michelin's about 2 weeks ago - caught a piece of metal in between the tread(s) that could not be plugged. $256 later at Costco and I have a new tire - sucks that there was no road hazard warranty on the OEM tires.

don't think there is any acura club in MN at all. When I had a legend before I moved, we have a few meets in Maple Grove, Edina, down town Minneapolis, Duluth and Lake Minnetonka. anyway, that was the days at www.acura-legend.com.

there is a local sportscompact club in MN.

Can't believe I didn't see this thread today.

I'm in MN. Representing the SW burbs in Eden Prairie.... LOL

I bought my car from Bloomington acura. I'm friends with the sales person so I got my car for invoice (3k off sticker). I see a TL around every once in a while but they are all stock. My is slowing moving to stock plus. We can start up a make shift Acura club here. I had mentioned us MNers getting together for a happy hour as a mini-meet a month plus ago. I still intend on getting one together but thanksgiving just got in the way.

ajdigerati, The rattles you have experience... are they from the rear speakers? I have that problem and need to take it in. Otherwise no other rattles/squeaks for me. I have also been toying with the idea of getting winter tires as I keep seeing that the michelines (sp?) are not the greatest according to other threads.

I have an NBP with camel interior.
Wood grain trim (console, shifter, rear, and steering wheel)
Aspec body kit, not the suspension/wheels though
Compustar remote start/alarm
Chrome strips on front grill (easy, cheap, looks good)
Solar guard (supreme?) tint 28%
Custom cut clear bra that follows the contour of the hood.

I have more in the works.

We should think about starting a TL club here in the great state of Minnesota. Any volunteers to help get this thing going?

Buda,

The service at Bloomington Acura, both sales and service, has been awsome. However, I have had a lot of trim issues with my car. It is going in for the 4th time next week to replace some trim they damaged while fixing a rattle. I also noticed my glove compartment does not line up with the dash correctly on the right side. But, like I said, the people there have been great to deal with.

That is really good to hear that the service at Bloomington is good. Their sales staff are definitely grade A.

I'm not sure how much time I could provide but I'd help how I could with getting a club going.

I haven't been in for any service since I got my car. The did a great job putting on all the extra items that I order though. I'll try to get in tomorrow about the rattle. I think the service dept is open tomorrow

I know I wasn't asked on the price but mine before options (complete stock) was 32882 for a Navi (sticker was 35999). I put on 3 grand in options, bought an extended warranty (2k), and with taxes and blah blah the total came out to be a little over 41k.

I was thinking there was nobody else from MN on here too. So far I've had my car for a year and a half now, but have only really driven it in the summer. I actually just parked it for the winter and am back to driving the old car. My goal is to do a couple mods to it this winter, since there is so much time to do stuff during MN winters.

Anybody up for getting a small meet together some time? I see plenty of TL's in MN, but I don't think many people know about acurazine. I usually tell people, like my dealer and stuff, but apparantly the word doesn't get around as much.

^-- Glad to see another MN TLer on here. I think several of us would like to see a mini meet. Anyone volunteer to take the lead on organizing one?

I have a lot of mods going on right now. Love to talk with others about what they are doing.

All discussions concerning clubs and meets should be posted in the Acurazine Clubs & Meets Forum.

If you start a thread there, you can post a link to it in this thread.

Well if we do a meet in the winter, count me out, because as long as i have the old car (it's for sale right now) I'm gonna drive it and keep the miles off my TL. Definitely count me in for helping set up and come to meets though. I'd like to talk with other TL crazy guys, see what they've done and get hints/ideas in person. I think this is sometimes way better than posting pictures....no offense to those that do some pretty damn good writeups on here. I'm a visual person and sometimes a couple pictures just isn't enough.

Again, sorry for the same post. Just trying to get all the MN people's attention for a meet. Last dup post in this area. Rest will be in proper forum.

Ok, MN peeps go to this [B]thread [\B] to talk about an MN meet.. Since no one else was trying to get something going I decided to ante up this time and get a happy hour together somewhere we can see each others cars.

There are some fix it yourself in the forums, but I'm going to take it to the dealership and see what they can do.

Sub Rattle

I also had the sub woofer rattle problem, and I had every intention of fixing it myself, but since my TL was due for it 1st service, I let Buerkle Acura take a crack at it and they fixed it!! The child car seat anchor in the middle of the rear deck has a plastic cover that would rattle, so the dealer "tightened" it. They also put some type of felt (like a gasket) between the top of the subwoofer the rear deck. No more rattle. Of course, they had the car for a day and a half, but overall I'm pleased with the result. BTW, the A1 service at Buerkle is approx. $35 for an oil change and tire rotation.

On the sub rattle...

Bloomington acura worked on it but didn't fix it. In their words they got it 90% better. What they did was insulate the speaker enclosure and put a layer of insulation between the sub and the mounting surface. When I listened to it, yes the rattling was slightly better but that was because all the insulation they put in was muffling the frequencies generated by the sub. It sounded horrible to. I'm going to be taking out the insulation. However good news is the service rep said something that gave me an idea. He said when he pressed down on the rear window it seemed to help the vibration go down. I started dinking around and discovered that the enclosure around the brake light at the top of the window is vibrating against the window. I'm going to take some of my sound proofing foam and fix that problem and then take out the insulation they put in the speaker enclosure.

I'll let you know how it goes.

As of 12/7/06 I took my acura 06 tl in to the Berkly (sp) shop and they got my sub fixed.

Had the obnoxious bass rattle with the rear panel. Took 3 hours to fix, got a loaner car and all was well.

Black / Black, Navi, Automatic, 31.2 + tax galore. Nov 11th.

Do you know what they did to fix it? Did they insulate like Buda's?

I saw three TL's (not counting my own) at the Blue Fox in Shoreview last night. I was parked next a White Diamond Pearl, and one row over was an Anthracite Metallic with A-Spec rims. When I came out of the bar about 2 hours later there was a Nighthawk Black Pearl about 2 spots down from where the Anthracite was parked. Anyone on this list, perhaps?

Hey all, great to hear from the other rare TL owners in Minnesota. Mine is an 06 AT with Navi - Royal blue. I have a dumb question - what is up with the compartment under the CD player that looks like it should hold the CD cases, but once you get 4 or 5 in it you cannot get them out or fit all 5 in? Am I missing something obvious here?

I don't think you're missing anything at all. It's just another spot on a car to put crap......whether it's cds, maps, gum, whatever you decide to put in there. Personally, I don't have anything in either of those compartments. I've seen a few guys on here put dvd players in there......usually looks pretty good, when all said and done.

Any Minnesota TL'ers annoyed by their WDP color Mismatch? I ask because I saw the post with the '07 TL WDP with the color mismatch. The color mis-match on my car is noticable too, but I didn't think anything could be done. But if the dealer will repaint (under warranty) it to match better, why not go for it. What do you guys think?

I have an NBP so I don't have to worry about it. However if I had the WDP, I'd definitely try to get it fixed under warrenty. I also saw the post you mentioned and I can still see the color difference even after the fix however it's not nearly as bad as it was on older pics I've seen of his car. Can't believe that put out that color with such a mismatch problem.
