Not bad. Though there is no reason on this planet that the Supra should not have taken the Civic out of the hole especially since it was on slicks. Decent cars, dumb crowd.

this has been going on for a very long time and for someone to lose control, cant control the car what so ever and does not have experience, thats something youll never find.

My point is the Supra wasn't set up right. Slick to slick, the RWD car should've slaughtered the FWD car. Not taking anything away from the Civic just pointing out that's not how it normall goes.

Am I reading that right, you're saying you'll never find anyone with no experience that can't control a car?

^^ What I meant to say before my computer sh!t on me is that the Civic is a beast! Also, just because the Supra lost RWD vs FWD slicks, doesn't mean the Supra wasn't "set up right," maybe the Civic was just set up better. Regardless it was a good race and I may have to look up this Midnight Auto Club

One was running 10.80s at the track. It's simple FWD vs RWD. The FWD doesn't compare, especially on the street. The Supra in the video looked like it pulled a 2.0 60' at best. It was lazy out of the hole.

When you go over to dragtimes.com, you can see that those 10-second Civics have 1.5 -16.s 60ft, and that's about the same as the Supra's shown there.

The Supra in this video did launch pretty softly though. However, from my understanding, the Supra is more of a "highway killer."

However, FWD on the street is a lot diffferent than on a well prepped track. The FWD is at a larger disadvantage on the street. What we have in the video is a FWD that hooks exceptionally well and a Supra that is lazy off the line.

Yeah that's a MKIV (4G).. and the supra launch was crap.. not taking anything away from the hatch but we're all watching the same vid right?
Even the most experienced drivers have lost control of their vehicles. Tire blow out.. blown axle / bearings.. slicks over water.. You have to be a naive dumb MF to think that a driver will always have control.. especially when you're putting anywhere from 500-600hp+ down.. there have been plenty of chill onlookers turned into hamburger meat.

You would love slicks on the track. Just as an example, on slicks on a well prepped street, I can launch at 4psi boost, roll out at about half throttle through first and put it to the floor at the bottom of second gear. At the track I launch it with the pedal to the floor for all it's worth.
On street tire I can't even go half pedal until it hits third and then it fights for traction the entire time. Not to talk about my car but just to illustrate the difference in tires and the track vs street.

It was better this way.. they ended up going through Sunday church traffic. The guy in the GT500 let off.. fortunately. I didn't see the '68 after the first few seconds from the intersection.. I think he went through a worm hole.

I can't push my car very fast so probably the Supra lol. Love those Supras though. My friend with an M3 didn't know any better and tried to run with a Supra with a front mount on the freeway. I tried to warn him but he didn't believe me until the Supra put about 20 buslengths on him.

I saw a street match up not too long back.. a young a*hole in his late model GT500 pulled up against a nice '68 GT fastback.. Dick head in the new GT500 mashed his pedal and slipped bad.. race was over before it really got going..

I used to win many races off the line. I loved the mind games. I would always tell people I was going to leave on them and they would never be able to catch me and the basic trash talking. Most of the time it worked so well they would go up in smoke and I won just because of the intimidation. There were a couple cars I had seen run nearly a second faster than me at the track that I would kill on the street because I made them nervous.
