Me vs. b16 civic coupe em1 (99-00)

So I ran into a b16 civic coupe tonight. It was a clean car with nice wheels, upgraded suspension, and sounded good . We were driving for about 5 minutes before we caught a light. The light turned green and we went easy in 1st then I heard him hit it @ low RPM in 2nd so I punched it. I ended up reeling him in by the top of 2nd and pulling steady in 3rd. 3 cars and pulling at the top of 3rd.

We ran again from about a 50 roll where I was in 4th and he jumped so I had to downshift to 2nd quick and started reeling him in when I hit 3rd.

I rolled the window down and asked him what he had he said he has the b16 I/H/E/Hondata *I didn't know Hondata made a tune for the b series*. The car was real clean and pretty quick. He then said he has no top end so let's try a low roll. We did a 1st gear around 20. 3 honks and he got a slight jump (I always wait a quick pick after the 3rd honk) but I pulled at the top of 1st, more in 2nd, and @ the bottom of 3rd 2 cars and pulling hard.

He was a cool dude and the civic was nice for sure. to they guy.

Nice kills. I have also beat down some of those B16 civics but never raced a hondata equipped B16.

I had a 95 Civic EX with a B16 swap, I thought it was quick... Had a 5zigen exhaust on it, I thought, and still think it sounded nice for a 4 cyl car, not fart can'ish' at all. But there is quick and there is fast...

Thanks Alex! I'm not sure ye..I need to fix my front bumper cuz the paint is peeling n it looks horrible. Next performance mods are probably gonna be a bigger exhaust and better Jpipe. After that
probably a tune to smooth the powerband. I think after the PCs a tune is needed. What about you man?

Haha my front bumper will need a new paint job before the summer as well got some small nicks and shit that I want to take care of.

Well the J-pipe and ATLP exhaust are being shipped in a few days. Then it's pre-cats and the UR pulley

Quick question, do you think I need a tune after I install the exhaust and J-pipe? My mods will be CAI, J-pipe, race pipe, ATLP exhaust.

Very nice! I'm sure it's gonna sound great. After those mods it's really gonna pull too!

Idk if you will need a tune but it would definitely give you good power and smooth out the band. After the PC deletes I'd say for sure, that's one of the most important things if you're running a good amount of mods. I may opt for the UR pulley too.

Lol.. good runs bro... by the way those srt-8's are fun to play with in stock form... I'm surprised that you held the 8s bumper but I'm sure not as surprised as he was... lol never had a highway run with one but I'm sure it would be close with me? Anyone know what they trap? That would give me a good idea of how I would do on a highway run...

I think they trap around 106ish. You should have no problem pulling one on the highway. I ran it from a dig. He didn't get a very good launch, I was ahead until 3rd gear. He pulled hard right when I shifted 3rd and ended up catching up, then once I got mid 3rd it even'd out (where I was on his bumper). Then @ the bottom of 4th it stayed even, then we let off. I'm sure he was thinking WTF!?
