In the market for an Acura TL Type-S, '07 or '08? What to look for?

I'm going to be buying a new car in the next two months, just haven't decided what exactly other than it's definitely going to be an Acura TL. I have even considered the 09 but I love the 07 and 08.

What should I look out for when purchasing one? What is your "limit" on what you would buy as far as miles goes? I was thinking anything under 75k is good.

Also, what is the difference between the type-S and the type-S A spec?

I am looking forward to this a ton. Had this car in my sights for a long time now.
What's a good price? Should I get CPO?

Thanks a lot for the help!

"In the market for an Acura TL type-s, 07 or 08? What to look for?"

Look for an 07 or 08 Type S. Pretty simple ;-)

On a more serious note, these threads are popping up literally daily now. Infact I know this because I basically wrote a novel in someone elses "what should I look for" thread just yesterday. I dont feel like typing that all over again so I would say do a quick search and your gonna find everything you need.

No differences between the Type S and Type S with aspec kit except the body kit. And even that kit is all personal choice. I personally do not like thr front bumper apsec kit for the Type S. It looks too "fighter kittish" to me.

Welcome to the forums.

James

How about preventing those without a minimum post requirement from being able to start a thread.

Or have their thread reviewed by a moderator before it appears in the forum.

I agree with James there are more threads of this nature being started since the new year.

Sorry guys, I should have known better. I'm a member of many different forums and it's always frustrating when a new member asks a question that has been asked 10,000 times already.

Anyways, love the look of the 07-08 type-S. Awesome car.

Oh and lastly, it it worth it to buy it CPO?

Another question that has already been answered.

Seriously....Search!

Read and then seek clarification in the appropriate thread.

I hated that requirement whenever I joined a new forum but now, I'm starting to think it's for the better.

JJH, first welcome to Acurazine.

Second, you're new to the forum. You can ask any question you want.

Guys, if you're tired of a new member asking the same question, why don't you just NOT answer?

Patience boys....patience. You were a newbie once too.

If it gives you peace of mind, then sure, get it CPO! I'm in the same boat as you, to be honest. I got my TL-S this past month also. If you're looking for numbers, I got my CPO 07 TL-S for $24k. It had 28k miles on it.

When you make your purchase, see if they'll toss in some free stuff! Like maybe new floor mats, trunk mat, or even splash guards if the previous owner took em!

Welcome OP!

Looking for a 6mt or 5at? I'd look at the condition of tires, brakes, bumpers, etc...cosmetic stuff. I'm picky so that's what I would look out for.

If getting the 6mt, check 3rd gear if it goes in without feeling funny. You'll notice it versus 2nd or 4th gear, don't know how to describe what it feels like you'll just know. Check to see if all recalls were done as well.

CPO would be nice but it'll cost you $$$$

As far as prior service goes, what else should I watch out for? I don't want to have to dump a bunch of money into it right after I get it. I know that the timing belt on these things needs to be changed every so often so I want to make sure that there isn't anything else like that that would add up.

I was once a newbie but I never started threads without searching for the information first.

If you show no initiative on your own part to answer your own question why should someone else do it for you...?

Starting a thread without searching means that you don't care to help yourself first.
To just post a question without bother to search for yourself to have others do the work and answer it for you doesn't make sense
