maintenance question

I'm a high volume driver (currently have 37,000+ miles on my '04 TL). I have been following the maintenance information that displays in the car fairly closely and trying to get my car in close to the correct timeframes to have the appropriate services performed. Every time I take the car to the dealer (Ann Arbor Acura), they try to convince me that I need the "10,000 mile service" or the "25,000 mile service". My understanding is that I really should just follow the message as displayed in the car. Is the dealer just trying to "upsell" me on a package? Any thoughts are appreciated as I do not want to do anything to hurt the car (I obviously depend on it a lot).

Yes, they are trying to sell you services you don't need. Some dealers cannot get it through their heads that the old service schedules used on previous models do not apply to the 3G TL's, and some just want to get in your wallet.

Within the last week, there have been several threads on what maintenace is required on the 04TL, and what you should be paying.

Do a search, or look back through the threads. It will be worth it to you, both in money saved and knowledge gained.

Wow, you're really driving A LOT.

Ok, how many MID maintenance service schedules do you have been experiencing? 5 or 6?

Have you ever got any service from MID, which are not A1 or B?





Most of dealers use old 03TL's schedule to service our 04TLs. That's why you saw those 10k, 15k, 25k, etc. service items. This is normal behavior by dealers. IMO.

I only have 17k so far, but the dealer gave my previous 3 MID service schedules (A1, B, and A1) as 7.5k service twice and 15 service once. They don't have real A1 or B servcie for 3G TL yet.
