M3 in Town!! i need Help
OK, my friends intro me to this new guy around my neighborhood who just moved with his M3. Its the 333hp M3. i dont know the year, all i know is its Red and Stock and an M3. I havent asked him questions about it. But we were talking about launching and thats when he started Saying HE WAS NEVER BEATEN and how he even pulled on a EvoMR lightly Modded from the launch. (lol)
Anyways, back to the story. I know even with all the Boltons i will still lose. But i wanna keep this 1 atleast close
i have TypeS, im thinkin to spend some before race him.
IceBox.
Headers
Pulley
Thermoblock spacers.
And take as much weight out of the car as i can. Including losing some weight myself lol.
If thats not enough, ill look into AFC. Lets me know if i can atleast stay close to him otherwise i wont bother moddin. just for this cause.
Rite now M3 quarter-mile is 13.4
Doin the math, i don think i have a chance unless i FI my TLS

hmmm...maybe he'll fuck up shifting like the M5 i beat...
but seriously, the advice i'll give you is to wait on those 18" wheels (as shown in your sig)...even with those bolt-ons, i'm sure he'd still win...and even though he'll pull ahead of you from a dig, i bet you could make it a close race after adding a few things...

first of all, fix your wheel problem!
anyways, normal stock TL-S runs 14.8s, which is quite a long way from 13.5 of the M3. With bolt ons though, you can definitely close the gap a bit. Now don't be scared because he beat a lightly modded EVO. American EVOs are slower than JDM ones (they can do high 12's), and you really have to dump the clutch at high rpm to get a good launch (which most drivers wouldn't do). Still, I am sure that your new friend can run 14s easily if not faster and that's hard to beat even with bolt ons. If I were you I would supercharge or turbocharge the TL first. But that can get $$....

If so, you need a Quad Turbo Charger and larger displacment. You also need drag strip tires....

Yeah, there is no way on this green earth a TL will keep up with an M3 from a dig. The M3 launches REALLY well, you will do a lot better from a roll 25mph and up.

Anyway those M3 are teh shit. They are the real deal, Ive owned one before and there arent many cars out there without some serious modifications that can outperform them.

I never take on any M3 with my TL, save myself from some embarassment and gas money.

Well I will give you a heads up. Ive seen many 6spds at the track running consistant low 13's @105-107MPH. 13.1 @107 M3 was against a 13.0@109 for a 00 M5 both stock!! The SMG is slower and harder to drive(ive driven one and I prefer the 6spd). Race from a roll because they tear out of the hole shot!
