Looking for NYS laws to mod 04 TL
Was wondering if anyone knew where I could read the NYS DMV laws regarding tint, lighting, etc. I searched the NYS DMV website with minimal luck. Anyone from NYS (Long Island, if laws differ from area) who can help me out?

I think there is a tint thread that I read recently - but I believe ANY tint in NY (and here in Long Island) is illegal. If a cop pulls you over, and you've got windows sooo blacked out that you can't see the driver, they might bust your balls and give you a ticket for it. Generally if you have 35% tint the cops won't bust your chops.. but if you have 20% or darker, they might. You know those Suffolk County cops - they are all ass's and will get you on everything. I've got 20% Titanium tint, and never have had a problem.

the law is that if you have a right side mirror you can tint the 3 rear window as dark as you want, but the front 2 are a min. of 70% any lower is illegal. i have 35% and never got a ticket.
