LOL moment @ acura dealer

I took in my car for some recall service work and my VSA light is on. The technician goes to move my car and says nice Type-s.. I looked at him and said seriously bro, you work for acura.. this isn't a type-s..

The service writer was also looking at it from the window and said wow thats one clean type-s

I looked at him and said it sure is clean but not a type-s

I had told the guy its a 04 TL 6 speed. Sometimes I wonder if people are listening to what your saying.

i could see from certain angles the TL looking like the previous generation 5 series or a 3 series sedans...but only people who know very little about cars would think that

ha thats like how i knew more about the car than the guy that sold it to us.
my dad was like "he knows more about the car than you do, maybe he should get the commision" and his exscuse was that he just started at the Acura dealership and he's actually from the Infiniti dealership down the street.
I recently found out that he was fired. haha

Hell, keep talking up the TL-S thing, then when they bring you your car after the service work ask where your TL-S is...

This is an 04... where is my TL-S ???

this isn't even funny...happens to me all the time. I have to always educate the staff at my local Acura dealership about their products

last time i went up to a salesman and asked if they had a 6MT 08 TL, he said let's check...so we go outside and he starts looking through a bunch of parked non Type-S 08 TLs...i'm like it's not possible for any of these to be a 6MT, you can't get a 6MT unless it's a Type-S since 2007...he's like sure you can. lol...

then once at the service department they tell me there was a recall on my brakes (squeeling)...i say i have a 6 speed with the brembos, he's like oh your car has the brembo option? i say well every 6 speed has brembos. (he was very suprised ).

another time i was in the parts department and the guy there asks me what year my car was, i say 2006, he asks is it a type-s?...lol he was also suprised at what i told him, said he never heard that before...

this is just what i thought of right now, it has happend dozens more times, not just at my acura dealer eather....it's rediculous.

I told the service writer "I am an automotive technician and the car is currently up to date with service" He hands me my repair order and he had noted on there that its due for a 45k mile service.....

Same guy who i said Its a 04 6 speed.. He looks out the window and says wow thats one clean type-s...

Like I said I wonder.

But if I go to starbucks and theres a bunch of car meets going on everyone says "check out that slammed Type-s" I just say yeah I down graded from a 3.5 to a 3.2 due to the price of gas...

With any kind of humor on this. Ive been telling my co-workers and friends that this is whats going to happen.

-Acura moves in my car into the service area
-Acura technicians surround my car because its dropped hahha
-They say "Open up the hood lets see whats under it"
-They see a 3.2 engine and say "Holy shit nuts this guy downgraded to a 3.2 from a 3.5 this shit is mad wack ass"
-Then they go on with their lives..

but too funny...

Whats even funnier is that the technicians doing your recall service work for the vsa light also believed you had a Type S

Are you talking about Acura of Las Vegas or the other new Acura place there?
If you go to Acura of LV for service you should go to Dave Ellis, he's pretty cool. We always went to him when my car was sitll in Vegas and he always took care of us.

Just be glad you dont have an Infiniti. One of the sales guys at Towbin Infiniti drove our G around for a week without us or the dealer knowing. Service there always sucked.

well to be fair, from the outside his car probably looks pretty damn close to a type S. People see what looks like a type S, it's a type S, and they dont analyze it further to realize the interior is not a type S. Furthermore, they probably see 100's of base & typeS interiors a day to the point where it becomes one big blur. The last laugh will be on him if they work on his car thinking it's a type S and install the wrong part or do the wrong service or something.
