Loaner car mileage limit

Hi all, searched but got a broad answer. Anyone know how long you can keep a loaner car for and how many miles you can put on it?

My local dealer has no limit on mileage. I can keep the car as long as they are working on my car. The have let me return it the next day when I was unable to make it to the dealer before the service guys left for the day.

my local dealer has no mileage limit... and they shouldnt because there is only 2 reasons your car is in there and u have a loaner.. You paid money to get your car worked on or something under recall

I am not sure about Acura. This summer however from Lexus we had a Lexus RX350 as loaner and we put about 3800 miles on it in 5 weeks. Fun times in that loaner LOL. Even washed and waxed it.

Just got a loaner last night... 100 miles per day, return with the same amount gas given, and return within 18 hrs from the time they call to say your car is ready.

Reason I asked because my car has been in the stealership for 2 weeks now and have placed around 600 miles on the loaner. I've looked over the rental agreement document and no mentioned of mileage limit but just to return with the same gas amount. So I'm assuming I have no limit, really hate to talk with the stealership but I will call to confirm. Thanks all.

Drive it like you stole it man. If they ask you anything tell them thats how you normally drive. Like I said in 5 weeks we put 3800 miles on a Lexus RX350. The dealer didn't even say anything.

I have had loaners from multiple acura dealers around here in the chicago burbs. None of them had any restrictions whatsoever. As others have said they dont even care if you return the same day your car is finished. They said whenever im available to get it.

I put 3,000 miles on a loaner car while I had it for a bit and no one complained (TSX with 50 miles on it) and have probably put a total of almost 20K on all the loaners I've had in my few years with Acura. My dealership didn't care about the mileage, all they asked was that it not be damaged (visibly) and have some gas in it.

250 miles/day, return with full tank (since they let you have it with a full tank), and return car 18 hrs after they call you when your car is ready....or when the SA decides to submit the paperwork to the cashier to be processed. the service dept is open until midnight however i refuse to pick my car up until the next day b/c i won't drive in traffic to get there and i want to pick it up when its light out to make sure i can go over my car to assess its condition. my SA is cool with that though, he understands.

I think it's bogus there are any restrictions, especially refilling the gas tank. The cost of the loaner car has to be built into Acura's pricing model.

Anyway, my dealer does not impose mileage, time or gas restrictions.

I've had loaners from multiple dealers in the Chicagoland area and there has never been a mention of mileage limitations. One time I had to drive the car to Toledo OH for a business trip and picked up my car 2 days after it was ready. The dealership didn't say a word.

Never had a mileage limit on a dealer loaner.

I have had insurance rentals that listed the states the car was allowed to be driven in.

"Will NC and SC be all you'll need?" I laughed at them.

"No. Add GA, FL, TN, VA, KY, OH, IN, and IL. That should be OK for the next couple of weeks."

I have never been told there was any limit on the loaners I have had, but I have read the agreement once and there were limits in there. I do not remember the mileage limits, but it clearly states that the loaner vehicle is for use within the KC metro area only. Never really an issue for me, but I did ask once before I took a loaner to St. Louis and they said it wasn't a concern.

When I got a loaner a couple weeks ago, the dealer stated up front that there is no limit on mileage and return loaner with full tank since it came with full tank. A week later, the service manager called and stated don't worry about the gas since the work was taking longer than expected. They should have told you before hand when you signed out for the loaner.

I wish they had told me my car is still at the dealer and its been exactly 2 weeks and 1 day already. I have a thread in the "problems section" about it, if you want to find out more. But anyways, hopefully there really isn't a problem since I'll be taking a trip to VA this weekend.

I really do not think so-They have your car so enjoy the loaner car. Did you get a rental (loaner) agreement-yellow copy with info on the back.

Yup, I've gone thru it several times and it does not mention anything regarding mileage limit. In the front the only thing filled out is mileage out and gas tank out. The part mileage IN and Fuel IN is blank. I guess I'll be enjoying this further lol even though I miss the power of V6, fyi I got a 2010 TSX as a loaner.

just make sure you bring that agreement with you-if you get stopped (not that I think you will) It is allowing you to drive that car.

Thanks for reminding me...regarding who can drive the car. Is it just me or can I let someone drive it too with my consent and with me in the car?

Oh my gosh. Call the damn place where you got the car! If you can't tell from this thread alone, each company has different rules. We can't answer that for you.

that is answered in the first paragraph on the back of the rental agreement. Time to read it again
it is where it states: Authorized driver means the customer and any additional drivers listed by the dealer on the front side of this agreement or is the spouse of the authorized driver. In other words NO
